Let's not forget how amazing she was at playing the piano. The instrument really was an extension of her soul. She always found the perfect way to complement her singing. When you watch a closeup of her singing, and simultaneously listen to the piano, you realize there's a unique blend, alchemy between the two. She's the only one that gives me this impression.

Nina Simone, Puttin Her Spell... on 'Em!! In ONE. PERFECT. SHINING. MOMENT. This is it! This ENTIRE performance is what Nina refers to when she wrote of her concern of how hard she has to work "so they get me" and how wonderful it feels to her when she and her audience gel, so to speak. Just check out Nina playing bass (rumbling that piano with her lef hand, playing the tune to "MISTER BACKLASH" with her right hand, and Singing; and not missin a beat... Whheew!! Aaaand, then she frowns briefly and "Bam!!"...with pure soul, finesse, and intricate perfection, The Whole Nina Simone Experience (in that one song)... In all, a six-song magical experience. . . . Thank You, God, for giving a seemingly "lost race" as Nina once mentioned, a reason to be proud and estatically motivated over and over....
