Not only the most influential jazziest of the 60's, a piano virtuoso (who started playing classical in orchestras at the piano and clavichord) with a very unique way of composing and interpreting classical jazz , a thinker and observer of society from a black woman's perspective that made an extraordinary contribution to the understanding, integration and equality of black people which still continues to impact positively in our society.

❤️ WE LOVE YOU - ❤️ your music charm is irresistible...Thank you Nina for everything xxx It's amazing how adorable it is to listen to the great NINA SIMONE, to my she is the Queen of piano and jazz, really that every time we see the videos of her, and we listen and enjoy the interpretation of her, wer skin is prickly, and no artist had ever caused that in me until we met her. we hope that her music will always continue to live for all time, and many more people can enjoy one of the most important women in the fight for human rights, equality of races and of course classical music ...my dear this song is simply a love of super top melody is a video with a nice flawless look I loved it is simple like that one love I loved it thanks for this excellent editing a hug and kisses for you ❤❤❤🧡 💛💚💙💜 Zoya Torozyan & Daniel Devit Echoes Overhead the albatross Hangs motionless upon the air And deep beneath the rolling waves In labyrinths of coral caves The echo of a distant time Comes willowing across the sand And everything is green and submarine And no one showed us to the land And no one knows the where's or why's But something stirs and something tries And starts to climb toward the light Strangers passing in the street By chance, two separate glances meet And I am you and what I see is me And do I take you by the hand And lead you through the land And help me understand the best I can? And no one calls us to move on And no one forces down our eyes No one speaks and no one tries No one flies around the sun Cloudless everyday You fall upon my waking eyes Inviting and inciting me to rise And through the window in the wall Come streaming in on sunlight wings A million bright ambassadors of morning And no one sings me lullabies And no one makes me close my eyes So I throw the windows wide And call to you across the sky Pink Floyd kzbin.info/www/bejne/iXPCp4Kad7ichtU

Her ability to deeply connect with people is timeless, and the way she puts a hurricane on the keys sheesh! People so afraid to be deep these days and real in a raw way but this was her essence

Because she came up of freshly freed slave parents and then whom else can lay gripe and woe, over what hasn't happened to them? Honey post freedom "depression" had "dependents"...its her heritage and background and the likes that few gather to see even today its not any acting "technique" Zshe OG on that stage rather..she pour her heart to them cause the racism and disconnect of her era, they were rude to her and she stay and talk through the uncomfortable moments letting them as since so must she, experience hers too, GOD handlez the rest. God bless you big sister always peace n luv yall >

I love Nina Simone, but this poor lady was under the influence of some meds or something. She was not all there in this performance. I really hate that she needed to be medicated heavily toward the later part of her career. She is and will always be a legend.

Raquel Diane TV She was battling alcoholism, due to the lost of a man she loved. She was not abusing MEDS..!!! Back in the old days thats how people coped with depression.

She lived alone in squalor in Paris playing for empty clubs from 1981-1983. I think they started giving her meds after this period? Maybe it was in 83, I’m not sure

The early 80s weren't kind to Nina, as others have said. Friends eventually intervened and got her prescribed medication to manage her bipolar disorder, but unfortunately it affected her playing skills and eventually took its toll on her singing voice. Just compare this performance to one of her shows from 1990 and you'll see she no longer has the soft subtlety in her voice.
