Time - Pink Floyd - David Gilmour Guitar Solo - Violin Cover by Nina D

This video is special for a few reasons. It’s my first Pink Floyd cover since Comfortably Numb, which has now over 6 million views across all platforms. I really love David Gilmour, and I feel like his style translates beautifully to the violin.
Secondly, this is the very first debut performance of this new custom painted @woodviolins Viper. This one has phantom frets, and I wanted that fretless feel to emulate Gilmour’s heart-wrenching bends, while still being able to get the growl in the low octaves.
The first thing I did was load a full set of @pirastroofficial Evah Pirazzi strings onto the violin, because really, they are just the best, and the only brand I’ve found to always keep a C string in tune on an extended range violin.
The backing track was made solely by @brodydolyniuk who recreated every instrument himself to the ENTIRE DARK SIDE OF THE MOON album for a Facebook live performance. That’s also his golden voice on the backup vocals under the solo. I am very lucky to have this incredible piece of work as a bed to lay the solo down on top of.
My sounds were created using a @official_line6 Helix, Logic Pro X, and a @digitechfx whammy at the very end.

Awesome job. I inherited my grandfather's violin after my aunt died. I thought it would be an easy transfer since I been playing guitar for decades, and boy was I wrong! It's difficult to get one good sounding note out of it. With no frets on it I had an idea where to put my fingers after watching several instructional videos. I know I should keep at it, but lately I've just playing Jimmy Page with the violin bow. Anyway, very impressed with your skills.

Fantastically played. We share playing electric violin and the interest of effects, pop, rock and soloing on electric violin. Interesting that I often are choosing the same pieces of music (Pink Floyd etc.) to play solos. Without hearing your choices first. That confirms it is the right track, IMHO. /Stefan Granqvist
