Thanks for sharing. I wonder why companies don't listen? The market for paper crafting is pretty big nowadays. The much older market for modell making has lots of glues with fine and very fine tips. Their glues are mainly used for gluing plastics, so not our target. But still: why not learn from them? There are many new and cheap brands out in Europe now, especially targeting paper crafters (like Craftelier from Spain or Action from the Netherlands I believe). But none of them offers fine nozzles. SMH @Glue companies: hear us out!

Craftelier is one of my go to shops. The Tacky Glue that the Action chain sells is quite a good glue in comparison to other name brand glues. I like the fabric glue from Action and the all purpose glue also.

You just don't need the nozzles.. just buy sewing pins, and get the stainless steel ones. Then don't snip the plastic nozzle of your glue, but make a hole in the top with your needle. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Almost 2 decades ago, I stumbled onto Scotch Quick Dry Adhesive and stuck with it ever since. It's my favorite glue for crafting as it dries very quickly and is acid-free. The original bottle had a precision thin tip, but the newer ones since (now re-branded as Scotch Create or I think Scotch Quick Drying Tacky Glue) have the undesirable tips. I pour those into the cheap needle nose plastic bottles and it works perfectly. Give that glue a try and see how you like it compared to the Art Glitter Glue. I use mine to glue EVERYTHING from paper, to wood, to fabric, to small metal pieces of embellishments.

I’ve been saving useful bottles for ages as I live in Europe and ordering from Amazon, eBay etc has become so expensive with higher shipping and in the last year, having to pay customs on every single thing coming from outside the EU! I work a lot with paper projects so use a lot of pva style glue. One bottle I just love is the small bottle my ‘Natural Tears’ eye drops come in. Small, soft, has removable inside tip piece so can be cleaned easily and…free! A few years ago I bought several of the bottles with the needle thing. Haven’t used even one of them yet! With the cost of living getting more & more expensive, it’s nuts not to look around and use what is on hand. Thank you for this vid.👏👏👏👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

I've recently found in my stash Tombow mono Aqua liquid glue that I wasn't using. And it works surprisingly well for small details. It has a thin tip and runs really well. It doesn't work so well for larger pieces - it warps paper. But for cutouts or other smaller elements - I really like it so far and I'm going to give it a chance.

Good tip on glue thining. I use Reptile glue, EXTREMELY strong and fast drying and about half the price of AGG. And yes, I decant it into the needle tip bottle. Don't order it in winter. I have a whole drawer full of glue but the Reptile glue has made all the rest lonely orphans..

Thanks Wendy Susan. I have not heard of Reptile glue so will have to look that one up. The fine tip of my AGG snapped off last week and it peeved me that I had to spend another £5.50 for a replacement. The glue is expensive enough as it is. I am intrigued to see how these glues will compare 💕

I've heard other YT'bers say that Reptile glue is the best but it is hard to get in the UK Nina, and VERY expensive (over £50 GBP for 300ml!).... I'm interested in the outcome of your upcoming glue experiments as, like you, I have loads of unloved glue bottles - hopefully fine nozzle bottles will be the answer! 😊🤞

👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Three cheers for needle-tipped applicator bottles! I’m a big fan. You will use less glue over time. You get a fine bead that won’t squeeze out the edges. I use Tombow white glue and if it gets where I don’t want it to be, I get it off easily after it dries with an adhesive eraser. Always wipe the eraser in one direction. I heard a great idea from Jennifer McGuire. She raps the bottom of the glue bottle on a hard surface a few times to get glue out of the spout. Then she “burps” the bottle to clear the last of the glue out of the spout. I ❤️❤️❤️ the idea of your experiment. What a wonderful idea! I’m excited to see your results.

How interesting, I'm amazed that Aleen's tacky glue is thin enough for these narrow nozzles. Well, maybe I should shake it up with some water like you said. I googled the little needle bottles and it's very easy indeed to buy them at low costs. So I'll have a closer look, I would love to have my favourite glues in them. Also suitable for alcohol, watered down acrylics and liquid watercolours I guess. Thanks Nina!

I think the difference with art glitter glue and other glues, is that it can glue so many different materials. That's why I would like to buy it. My adhd doesn't let me just stick to one type of craft, but makes me want to try everything! 🤣 So instead of buying all kinds of different glues, I prefer one that can glue loads of materials. In the end, that will save me money, even though it is expensive. But if you do mostly paper crafts for example, you don't really need a glue that can glue glass and polymer clay.

In germany the sugar belle bottles are only available on Amazon you can get the pack of two for about 16€ and the caps, if available, for about 10€. The art glitter glue is expensive too. I can get the small needle Tip bottles for 1€ for a pack of two on one of the shops in our town. Honestly I don't understand why the art glitter glue is one of the most used glues. I've testet a lot of glues over the years, especially over the last two years during covid as the shops were closed and I had to purchase the stuff that I needed over the internet and not always got what I wanted. I found a lot of the glues worked equally. Often it's the amount of glue you're using.

Hi I have a tip that helps me. Example any glue that has the safety foil like sticker. Example just make a very small hole in the foil circle. (Keep the circle in place) I find then it only let's a small amount in the chamber so to speak. It might take a second to get going but it doesn't seem to flood out ...or air bubble out🥰 I also have a light that attaches to a power battery for tools. I had a battery but the tool broke. I thought what do I need this battery for???? I then found a phone charger and a light that works on top of the battery. I can craft in a power outage lol. . The light has a circle clip that holds your glue upside down. I use the standard glue bottle and using the foil circle. It is ready to go fast😊Laura

Hi Nina! I use the 30mil bottle and have had no issues. A couple of years ago, i bought an 8oz. refill bottle of Art Glitter Glue because I found a super sale and already had the needle tip bottles at home. I have only filled my 30mil bottle twice in the past 2.5 years, so I can't complain that Art Glitter is too costly since it's applied so sparingly. The other things I like about Art Glitter is that it's fast dry, flexible hold and it's not too runny/not too thick. I also use a 30mil bottle for decanting Liquitex Pouring Medium, which I use in place of Glossy Accents. (most cost effective if you get the Pouring Medium on sale.) I had a bottle of Fabri-Tac that hardened in the original bottle. I would like to try Beacon 3 in1 instead of Fabri-Tac. Does it flow well from the 10 or 30mil bottles? Or will I need to use a bigger opening? Thanks for your help! Janet 💕
@NinaRibenaMixedMedia
@NinaRibenaMixedMedia 2 жыл бұрын
Yes I like that AGG is fast drying and flexible. I find acetone glue dried to a hard finish and I have to be careful to only add it to the edges of a page. I don’t think you will notice a difference between Fabritac and 3 in 1. Collall is another good option if you are decanting as it’s cheaper. I have had no problem with any of these acetone glues flowing from the 10ml or 30ml bottles, but if your glue is a bit too thick, you can thin it down with some acetone or nail polish remover. Thanks for the tip about pouring medium. I have a large bottle of it that I have never used 💕
@JH-wd7ul
@JH-wd7ul 2 жыл бұрын
@@NinaRibenaMixedMedia My apologies Nina. I should have been more specific about the Liquitex Pouring medium. I use it in place of Glossy Accents to provide a clear raised dome effect on top of sentiments (looks like clear embossing) or applied thinly on parts of an image I want to accentuate (by making it appear shiny) or appear wet (such as placing a dot of it to imitate a dew drop on a flower). The needle tip bottle is perfect for all of these applications. But I know some people also use Glossy Accents as a glue for adhering items down. I have never used Pouring Medium as a glue, so I don't know if it has similar holding properties. I mentioned it in context of storing in the needle tip bottles, but I don't want you (or your viewers) to think I was recommending it as a glue. 😊 Thanks for the info about Collall. I think it sounds like what I'm looking for to adhere textured lace to a journal! Janet 💕

@@JH-wd7ul Oh, using the pouring medium like that is genius! I wonder if I could use it for glazing paper beads aswell?
@JH-wd7ul
@JH-wd7ul Жыл бұрын
@@GrumpetteJV I don't make paper beads, but I would imagine you glaze the beads once they're rolled? If so, then the Liquitex pouring medium should work. It tries clear and has a hard, but flexible finish. (It isn't a brittle hardness that cracks or flakes.) I would think you would have to paint it on, which may ruin any brushes that you don't wash right away. Perhaps you could recycle an empty clear nail polish to store some pouring medium? But then again, it may be just as easy to use a clear nail polish as a glaze? Sorry, I don't seem to be very much help. 😕

Very helpful video. I purchased the small needle nose plastic bottles two years ago, but had a hard time transfering glue into them. 😠. Any tips for that? Can't wait to learn the results of this test. TFS. 🙏💌💐

squeeze it in but don't put the nozzle all the way in the bottle when you squeeze so you don't create an air seal. Just keep squeezing gently, short squeezes and not too hard. Lately I've just been pouring it in but that takes a steady hand and control over flow and your glue needs to be runny and not thick. A funnel doesn't work well because the funnel opening is too small to get a good flow going.

Thanks Evelyn. I cut the tip of the nozzle to make the opening bigger so that the glue can pour out more easily. Then I do what Wendy Susan has suggested 💕

So what did you think after using your other glues? Did you like your other glues once you decanted them into the other bottles?

I find the smallest bottle very easy to hold. I have neuropathies and a small tremor, and at my age my fingers are not very strong. I love my little bottle.

Hi Nina where do you buy your art glitter glue? I tried amazon and eBay but no luck!

Hi Trish. I purchased mine from Amazon last year. They don’t sell it during the colder months as it destabilises during transit in cold temperatures. It should be available again soon now that the weather is getting warmer 💕

Can you decant art glitter glue in a sugarbelle bottle? I haven’t seen it done and wondered if there is a reason.

Hi Tiffany. You could absolutely decant Art Glitter Glue into a Sugarbelle bottle. But why would you want to? Fine nozzle metal tips can be purchased to attach to the Art Glitter Glue bottles making it much more cost effective than decanting the glue. I hope this helps 💕

Why buy more plastic for the landfill? Why decant from one plastic bottle to another plastic bottle? Make your own glue bottle thin tip using a pen or mechanical pencil tip that you've removed from the source. They all work on GG tops. Or make your own glue topper from some masking tape. Just search YT for the tutorials.
