This was a great comparison video. One feature I would have liked to have seen tested, though, was how much the various adhesives wrinkled paper. Thanks for doing this!

For the Art Glitter Glue...to attach the fine tip, all you do is put the fine tip on top of the normal black tip and screw down. It will make grooves on the black tip and hold on to it. You don't have to remove that tip even if you get a new bottle. Just take the entire section (black tip and fine tip) off the old one and put it on the new glue bottle. Also, make sure you use the pin that comes with it or a pin that is stainless steel. If not, it will get rusty inside the glue. You really don't want that. Hope that helps.

I absolutely loathe the fine tip. I put it on and it fell off. I go find youtube and follow instruction to twist and it falls off. Put Art Glitter glue in closet and throw tip away. I saw lots of reviews about the glue. I wish it worked. I hate to waste money.

I really enjoyed this video. So very helpful for crafters. Several issues I find with glue that you could test for are 1. If it warps the cardstock. 2. If it warps thiner pretty papers 3. If it warps the vellum. 4. The easiest way to figure cost is to take the price ÷ the number of ounces. Then you can use per 1 oz price on your list. 5. The glue that dried clear with white spots wasn't completely dry yet.

@amkarei
@amkarei 5 жыл бұрын
I think I noticed that MayMay keeps some kind of glue stored upside down in a container. Makes sense, as that way the glue is ready to come out when needed and also has less chance to suck air up into the bottle, possibly drying out the contents. Guess it would have to be at least somewhat viscous, though, so it didn't ooze out immediately upon opening and baptize your project before you were ready to apply it. @@marypolancodesigns

Thanks for your video! It took you a lot of time and cost of your glues to do this comparison. I am an Art Glitter glue user most of the time....for super fine lines I use Lineco Ph Neutral glue that I buy from Amazon. It is currently $8.19 for 8oz and I use it in micro tip bottles....I purchased this over 2 yrs ago and still have over half the bottle left...it is an amazing glue! I also like Nuvo glue and that comes out super nice straight from the bottle it comes in. Tombow multi I use for the tackiness on the back of red rubber stamps to stick better to clear blocks (of course let it dry completely before putting it on a block). Thanks again for your time

As much as I do love the wood blocks I find they take up way too much space....that and with the new tools (MISTI and Stamparatus) the stamps need to be cling. Now I am on the hunt for an economical case to switch stamp sets to after removing from the blocks...lol

Thanks for doing this glue review. I love side-by-side product comparisons. It was honestly surprising to see how well most of them did on the holding phase. A couple of years ago I did a paper-to-paper comparison (for my own purposes) of the glues that I had in my stash. I used the same papers for each test. The results were surprising. Some glues dried smooth, some lumpy, some did not hold (glue stick), and some of them made the paper warp. Thanks for all of the information on your testing. It was very helpful!

I used Multi Matt Medium for a couple of years, but I got tired of the tip clogging. I had been watching MayMay's channel and I thought the Art Glitter Glue was pricier than I wanted to go. Then when she was selling it to raise money for a diabetes charity and the son of one of their employees who has diabetes, I wanted to help. I bought a. bottle for me and one for a friend. It is one of the smaller ones, so now I just get the big bottles to refill t. It really doesn't take much at all to make things stick, so the Art Glitter Glue lasts forever! I have found that Art Glitter Glue works well and lasts a LONG time. In the fall, i bought a small bottle with the precision tip to try. I made at least 75 multi-layer holiday and new year's cards with it and have used maybe an eighth of a 2 ounce bottle. Even though it's not cheap, it's less expensive than dry/snail adhesive. I also like the Multi Medium Matte, but it's hard to get precision with the tip on the small bottle and the (purchased) precision tip makes the bottle too hard to squeeze. I end up using it out of the jar with a toothpick.

I love the Art Glitter glue with the metal fine tip. It is important to store the glue with that pin in the metal fine tip when not using it. The glue will come out with a tint of brown if you use the wrong metal pin. You can purchase replacements. I use the smallest bottle with the metal fine tip which is easier on my hand and keep refilling it from a larger refill bottle. So happy with this glue.

I use Art Glitter Glue and Nuvo for all my liquid glue needs, with one caveat: I use MMM for any heavy metal embellishments. A lot of people use Glossy Accents for those, but I like Ranger’s adhesive because it has a teeny bit of flexibility (if you’ve ever done book binding, you know how important a strong yet flexible glue is), and also because MMM contracts as it dries, meaning that it’s not going to be as obvious if a little oozes out. I’ve been curious about Aileen’s, as I like their fabric glue for tacking prior to sewing. It’s super flexible and holds well.

This is one of the best liquid adhesive reviews that I have seen! Thanks for taking the time to do it. I loved how you used easy to find glues and "specialty" glues. I use Tombow Mono Multi Liquid Glue and Aleene's...but a different formulation. I use her Quick Dry Tacky Glue because it was the only glue that was very matt (clear) when dry. Like you, I enjoy that it comes in a big bottle.

Fantastic review Mary! Like u mention there are a couple of flies that may suite our needs. I am a stroke survivor so I have hand issues having said that one may assume the small bottles are easier for persons like myself. It is normally quit the opposite. In our stroke therapy group we too have tried several adhesive products that work for us. Mainly the bigger bottles that are soft To squeeze win out and despite the price Aleena’s has always been a solid go to brand! I have personally tried others and I still like Alene’s and a couple other go to’ for different reasons. Thank u Mary!!

Thank you so much for sharing this with us. I had to send back the Lawn Fawn bottles because 2 out of 3 of them were bad and didn't dispense glue. this is a phenominally helpful video, thanks for putting so much time and effort into it. not to mess up your effort but there is one more glue you may want to try, it's called yes glue, it's very thick it comes in a tub and you apply it with a tool, a brush, or stylus for example. it's clear, holds very well, dries fast, and best of all it will not wrinkle your paper, I used to be into dollhouse/miniatures before card making, and it's perfect for putting wallpaper in your dollhouse, it is a little expensive compared to what you've used, a 16 oz tub is $15.00 but a tub will last a lifetime, as somehow it never dries out in the tub, I've had one for about ten years that's good as new itis tacky, so it's great for foiling

For people who don't know Ranger's Multi Medium is an acrylic medium also sold by Luitex among others for less. 12/15/21 -- 1/2oz for $5.50 vs 4oz for $6.92. Ranger over-prices some things. Also, I prefer acrylic medium extra heavy get by Golden, which is more expensive but I like the smooth paste quality because it doesn't run and bleeds less. Also, always keep your glue nozzle and inside the cap clean so it will make a better seal and slow drying out.

Thank you for your time putting this out there. I would love to see a comparison between the top ones as to how they work gluing paper to paper. Does the paper warp? How strong is the bond? How much time before you can’t adjust without ripping? The tacky glue surprised me, but I am not sure how it would perform paper to paper. It’s why I like my Art Glitter Glue- it bonds quickly with a tiny amount of glue. The extra fine tip prevents waste. Thanks again!

I,too, loved the video. Here's another bit of info about the Tombow glues. I love the green bottle. I was in the craft store and didn't see it so I bought the blue "aqua" one. I used the blue Tombow last night and found that it made my paper warp! I didn't use too much either. It happened on a second card too. Someone pointed out to me that the "aqua" dries clear and hard while the green dries white with a little flex and tack. I will use the "aqua" for sequins, buttons and other embellishments and the green for everything else,especially if I need a fine tip.

The glues I use are: 1. Aleenes for the thickness and the hold for sequins, buttons, wood veneer and ribbons. 2. Towbow Mono Aqua for paper and embellishments above. Jessica from Im a Cool Mom uses it for everything and she makes junk journals. 3. Glossy accents which I use to add dimension and glossiness to make paper buttons. 4. Dollar Tree glue for paper. The only issue i have with this one is you have to shake it to make sure it doesn't come out liquidy and sometimes it has little clumps in it. I want to try the Art Glitter Glue. Maymay from Maymay made it and Tracey from Gift Basket Appeal both swear by this glue for paper, buttons etc.

Great review! I started using Tombow mono glue when I first started paper crafting. Then I tried Art glitter glue. I absolutely love it. The lid on my cookie jar broke and I used art glitter glue and that lid lasted for over 1 1/2 years before it broke again. And it was used every day. No I did not have cookies inside. 😜 I also purchased thick chipboard organizers and I put them together with art glitter glue. They are still holding over 1 year and no signs of coming apart. It is a bit on the pricy side but you do get a lot for you money. The precision tip that you can buy separately can clog if you do not put the pin in after you have used it. But this is just this girls opinion. However with that said. After your review. I will purchase the Alleens glue for mats and layers and use my art glitter glue for my 3D paper projects and travel journals cause I know it is really strong. Thank you for sharing!

Hi Mary, thx for a very thorough review of glues. I mostly use snail for adhering, as I've not had good results with liquid glue in the past, i.e. was too generous and got ripples, etc. I guess somewhere between that and sparingly is the key. Thanks for the glue review. I like the green tombow glue and the tonic glue. I use glossy accents for embellishments only. I would be interested in a paper warps test.
