Here are some Aurora quotes about the song in interviews (from Aurora wiki), the second one is auto translated from a German article, and it shows a bit: "It's a very strange story , a story I would like for people out there to figure out themselves. I contacted a French artist, Pomme, to write the ending for me. And it is beautiful. Sensual. And real. I do often feel like this world is trying to make me focus on all these great miracles. And somehow I feel like it makes me miss out on the small ones. And that is sad. Because the small miracles happen all the time. Sometimes several times a day. And I want to see all of them. Because everything matters." "I wrote it a long time ago, quite early in the process and I already knew with that song that it was a part of the vibration that I wanted the album to be. To me it's about - which is an important keyword for me, because it can be about something different for everyone -, but it's about two things. If you listen very carefully, it's a beautiful and a sad story. There's something ominous about it too. But also something extremely beautiful. It's about these people, the you and them me in the song, and they are going through something which forces them to think about life differently and they look at each other and they look around themselves and they just grasp that time is slipping out of their fingers too quickly. I look at everything and am imagining in the end of the song they drive this car out to a sunset and they watch one very last sunset together and... there's a fear that you miss out on all the beautiful things. There is so much beauty in this world, the small things as well."

New follower here. Can you please do a John Farnham reaction? He's basically the best Australian singer ever, maybe do 'Help' live to start. He has so many more but you gotta start somewhere. You sound better than most singers you're reviewing, pretty sure you dont wanna try keeping up with Johnny though 😉No offence to those you've reviewed but he shits on most of em haha. Keep up the good work 👏🏼

Fun fact: They used the original instrumental tracks here and the piano part was played by Aurora herself. She is, as she stated it herself, not a 'very' good piano player, but yes, she surely knows, how to hit the right keys at exactly the right time.
@PonchoSaGo2 жыл бұрын
I saw an Instagram story where Askjell said "thank you for letting me play the piano on this song" or something like that haha
@taccamine8312 Жыл бұрын
@@PonchoSaGo It certainly has more of Askjell's stamp on it. Aurora usually plays more simple arpeggio patterns. Still her playing is always very tasteful

It is also one of my top favorites from new album. Love the so poetic and beautiful lyrics. Also love the piano, especially in a second part of a song. Song meaning also speaks to me (at last how I interpret it but I think it is in line with "official meaning"). Thx for a cool reaction!

This is like Chanson (a song-like musical genre rooted in French culture, which is characterized by a singer and instrumental accompaniment. Already in the Middle Ages there was a popular genre with the name Chanson.)

Brilliant analysis! I have come to love this song, especially the live version. At first listen, though, I thought the climb up at the start was weird. Imagine! (Why does she have both hands on her diaphragm, I wonder? Can she control the asperated notes better by pushing in?)

Great analysis again of this beautiful performance, thank you :) ... And yep, definitely on my top Aurora's songs ;) ... And you're kinda right about the end : in the original track, Pomme's voice fades away, while the piano remains, and they added the "Promis, Promis .." part here :) ... PS : if you want to see another version, somewhat funny, without Pomme this time (and so, Aurora singing in french), there you go : kzbin.info/www/bejne/sJuxhJh7n5ubbpo

I think they are singing "pour me, pour me" (to me, to me) or "for me" ?
@fabrice72112 жыл бұрын
@@Einyen Nope, that's "promis" (promised), trust me, I'm french :D (that or they really messed up the pronunciation, lol, but "to me" would be "pour moi", quite different)
@TheVirtualWatcher2 жыл бұрын
With the smiles on their faces, I think they're singing "Pomme-ee ..." just for the sheer fun of it ...
@Einyen2 жыл бұрын
@@TheVirtualWatcher Yeah maybe, I thought about that possibility too, but "Pomme" is pronounced differently I think (I'm not french). @Fabrice At least I do not hear any "r" sound after the "p" if they are singing "promis", and I'm not sure why they would sing "promised" at the end?
@fabrice72112 жыл бұрын
@@Einyen Indeed, it's just pronounced "Pom" :)
