The vinyl version of this album has 2 other songs on it (while missing "Giving In To The Love" and "You Keep Me Crawling"). One of those 2 extra songs she released as a single recently preparing for the release of the deluxe version of the album: "The Woman I Am", it is on her main channel as a "visualiser" (still image changing colors): youtu . be / -P2b0cDVJiY The 2nd song "The Devil Is Human" might also be released soon as a single, but someone already uploaded it from the vinyl: youtu . be / v8Io5I2TiiU Rumor has it the song "Potion For Love" will also be on the deluxe version of the album, it is a "sister song" to "Exist For Love". This song was previously released on the B-side of the vinyl single for "Cure For Me", and it has also been uploaded (with a few vinyl crackles due to an image printed on the vinyl): youtu . be / Rg6s6Ee0pb8

I'm sorry Nina for spamming you, but I have so much information I want to share, last post now 🙂 Aurora had the idea for this theme "The Gods We Can Touch" already back in ~2016-2018. Aurora replied to a question in an interview about "Infections Of A Different Kind" the last song on Step 1, which I remember you enjoyed a lot in your reaction, and her reply is a beautiful little story: "On track eight you say ‘Be god in the shape of a girl’ - what does that line mean to you?" "I was at an airport, it was late, I was alone and my plane was the last one to leave. It was the year before I wrote the song, so 2016, which was a hard year for me because it was quite busy and I was sick all the time - I was in the hospital many many times. So yeah, at the airport… I was on my way home again, I felt a bit out of place, out of my own body, and then I looked at this family. I saw two very tired parents, and then this little girl - she was maybe 3 years old - and she seemed to give them so much joy, even though they were very tired. And she gave me a lot of joy. And then I saw an old couple, leaning over to look at the little girl who was smiling back at them. She seemed to interact with almost everyone at the gate, and make everyone happy. Without even knowing it. And I loved the way happiness and love can be so… simple? Don’t underestimate the power of a child. It was just very magical to see how much it affected everyone and everything. If I was to choose a religion, I would love it if god would be something that you can touch. Something like a little girl, on this earth, and not something that is far away or judges from above, you know?"

I'm pretty sure Aurora writes all of her songs herself, and those songs with cowriters listed on them is because they helped her refine them or change something later. In an article from 2014 at age 17 just after she was "discovered", she said she had already written over 60 songs (she started around the age of 9 !), and in interviews years later she has mentioned that she has hundreds of songs. She doesn't just write songs to make albums but as a hobby because she loves it. She has around 22 unreleased songs that somehow leaked to YT.
@Einyen
@Einyen 2 жыл бұрын
I found the perfect article that illustrates what I just posted about her writing songs herself, here are the quotes from a Feb 2019 article in unitedstatesofparis: "I write all the time, I write on tour, I have many songs, maybe 200." "Is Infections of a different kind the only song on the album that you wrote alone?" (Step 1) "Although there are names in the credits, because when you're in the room you necessarily have your name as the author on the song - it's normal each presence affects the song - I do all my melodies and lyrics myself for all my songs. Because I'm pretty selfish and I know what I want.🙂 I'm very busy, I'm on tour all the time, I write all the time. It's hard to finish things on my own because my mind is so everywhere. I have a thousand ideas at once. It's so nice to be with friends and collaborate together. Normally I release my songs, I record them with my team. We build the universe together and I take them back with me and I redo them again in my own way. It's nice to create things with people who can teach me things and help me. It's a very personal thing, that's why I like to write the lyrics myself because I don't want other people to know what it's about. I want them to have the same experience as everyone else. It's a whole new experience to sing the songs you write yourself."

"A Little Place Called The Moon" is like the outro of the album, but Aurora said in a livestream that it is also a bridge to the next album, so we'll have to wait and see what she means 🙂 Here is a little fun thing about the lyrics: The line "We are going to the moon" if we take it literally, then NASA's mission back to The Moon is called "Artemis" because she is goddess of The Moon (as well as many other things), and in the song "Artemis" Aurora sings: "I always wondered why they all, Came back for more!" "Exhale Inhale" is a song about the state of the environment like "The Seed" is on Step 2, and the choice of "Exhale Inhale" instead of "Inhale Exhale" might be a statement of grief, since it comes from grief counselling: youtu . be / dK-FJeA3kiw&t=595s Carmen Holt: "You usually hear it in reverse: Inhale, Exhale, like if you are in yoga class: Inhale and exhale. But I have recently had an experience with grief, and it was actually exhaling, that came first." Aurora: "Yeah, it is the exhaling that comes first. I have experienced the same."

Very sad that Aurora has experience with grief counselling, but she lost several people close to her over the years as was revealed in different interviews.

This Could Be a Dream "I wrote this very late, so it was completely dark the whole time. I was thinking about people’s dark hours, and I wanted to make a song for those who never learn to dance and run because they’re just managing to stand up. It takes so many muscles for a human body to even stand up, so I can understand why people can’t find the strength for it. It’s very hard to be a human, and I’m just saddened by the idea that some people never get to explore their own full potential because they constantly have to simply fight for the right to exist. That just breaks my heart. So I wanted to make a song for them." - Aurora My favorite song from the album. It's a very emotional song and very relatable for me. But I love all your Aurora reaction/analysis videos. You're so talented and it's so interesting to see what professionals can pick out from the music.

I think it is one of the most beautiful songs ever, it's up there with "Infections Of A Different Kind" (song), "Through The Eyes Of A Child" (a cappella version especially) and her cover of "Make You Feel My Love" (Bob Dylan). In no particular order: This Could Be A Dream (lyric video): youtu . be / iBmSErpzvfwv Through The Eyes Of A Child (a cappella): youtu . be / CFzExUN1N8I Make You Feel My Love (Bob Dylan cover): youtu . be / f2avKa4iMEY&t=5m45s Infections Of A Different Kind (HAIK concert): youtu .be / _zo_9ApBsQY

I love to listen to this album straight through, over my hi-fi speakers. That way I can fully appreciate the impressive use of the bass synth and the aggressive drums. With the clarity of Aurora's vocals I am impressed each time I listen. Whilst some tracks may affect me more than others, I never feel the need to skip through, just enjoy the totally immersive experience each time 😍

In my earlier life I listened to jazz. We used to say that a musician had big ears. This had nothing had to do with big physical ears. but with the ability of the person to hear everything in a musical piece. In your case, you seem to be ability to hear much more in a piece of music than most people can with the instruments, the percussion, the voices and the lyrics. You seem to be a thirty-two tracks on the tape, while most people hear two or four tracks. You must have an amazing IQ.

In this could be a dream, when she says "I get back up when the wind is strong, but I wish I knew how it felt to run"... Always fighting our way in this world, while all we really want to do is to be able to just be free and run. It gets me every time. Such a sad lyric. However, blood in the wine is my favourite without a doubt! The message speaks to me so strongly and the drums are just YES!

I love your feedback and wonderful analysis on Auroras music and voice. You do a wonderful job! I do have a slight problem however with your listening process! I personally feel that the listener (Myself mostly) would be able to appreciate your reaction much more if you played more of the track before stopping it to comment. We hardly hear any of the song before you stop it to explain what you're hearing . The music, vocals and context of your critique suffer since we don't hear a large enough sound bite to fully grasp what you feel she is trying to convey! Longer passages before stopping to react in my opinion would make your reactions and analysis even more enjoyable than they already are! I honestly have no intent to offend you. It is just my personal observation. Thank you for your time and for sharing what you do!

Love your reactions. Here's a fellow Norwegian that you might consider analyzing. Shortly after turning 9, this little barefooted girl arranged and performed a masterpiece cover of the Screamin' Jay Hawkins' 1956 original, "I Put a Spell on You". Although this song has been performed time and time again, many think this studio performance got closest to the original artist's intent. To further confound the issue, it also just doesn't seem rational that this is coming from a little Angelina Jordan. You may not prefer critiquing child singers, but this child prodigy is like nothing we've seen before. "I PUT A SPELL ON YOU" (black and white studio performance) - kzbin.info/www/bejne/pKipnaJ5hb2tedU - A Child Prodigy - Angelina Jordan is a child prodigy who: began singing at 16 months old; shows a clear preference for jazz/blues (Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Armstrong, Nina Simone, Etta James, Ben E. King, and Amy Winehouse), a talent which always work its way into every performance with her vibrato and riffs; she arranges all of her music; entered Norway's Got Talent at 7 y/o, and ended up winning; has performed around the world; her parents have kept their focus on her having a normal childhood so 90% of requests and offers have been turned down. The largest performance she has sung for was for over 40,000 people, while still a preteen in Norway. Having won NGT, she auditioned for America's Got Talent "The Champions" in 2020, at 13 y/o. She auditioned with her own arrangement of "Bohemian Rhapsody", earning her a pass straight to the finals. By 15, she has over 160 cover performances and 5 originals. She has signed with Republic Records at 14. Her parents have still tried to preserve a normal childhood as possible for her and her little sister. She turned 16 this January, and Angelina's presence in the music industry is increasing (Here is Republic Records' page about Angelina - www.republicrecords.com/artists/angelina-jordan ) Here are 2 other videos you may wish to sample. The first is her "Bohemian Rhapsody" audition for AGTC and the second is her final performance on Norway's Got Talent, where she arranged and performed "Summertime". This second video has English CC and is broken into 4 parts: a spotlight on Angelina's experience on NGT; her performance of "Summertime"; the judge's responses to the impacts Angelina has made on them; and the announcement of the winner. Here are the time breakdowns of this performance: spotlight 0-1.40; performance of "Summertime" 1.40-4.20; judges summation 4.20-8.00; winner selected 8.00-12.48. If you wish to only listen to the song, I've included the judge's comments below. I've also included the backstory on why Angelina always performs and records barefoot. AGTC - "BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY" (includes golden buzzer) - kzbin.info/www/bejne/qnSUmXdtoMSKitk NGT 4 - "SUMMERTIME" (spotlights Angelina, pre/post performance, winning NGT, and has English CC) - kzbin.info/www/bejne/sH-XnHSlm5acqZI - Norway's Got Talent Judges Reflections on Angelina - Omer Bhatti: “We were in shock when she started to sing…it was a discussion whether it was an impression of that kind of music (ref to Gloomy Sunday performance) or the real deal…and the next time we saw her, she owned the stage, when she rehearsed, she told the bassist what she wanted and had full control. And we were like…ok…you are a star…we have something special here…”. Judge Lisa Tønne: “…I am so happy that there is a human like you on earth. For me, this is not human like talent, I can’t explain it. … I’ve never ever experienced such a talent in my life.… “Don’t think. Just sing”. Judge Mia Gundersen: “Angelina, you have a gift that you got at such an early age. And to be able to convey this talent to the world is a huge task for an 8 year old, but you nail it. There’s almost no one that can convey in the way you do in this age. There are a lot of singers out there, and some of them sing great. But you have such a unique style. You have to protect your style. You have to understand that for yourself because it’s a gift…" Judge Bjarte Hjelmeland: “It won’t help how many times you say ‘Don’t you cry’, I can’t help it but to cry. You know I promised you and myself to not cry, but you hit something inside me whenever you sing, and you hit something in many people when you sing. And I’m thinking to myself, in 10 years… I think that is unimaginable…You sing so amazingly good.” - The Barefoot Princess of Jazz Backstory - Angelina is known as "The Barefoot Princess" or "The Barefoot Princess of Jazz". She always performs barefooted, whether in front of a live audience or during a studio recording. The story is that when living in the Middle East, at age 6, she came across an orphaned girl about her age sitting in the street, earning money by weighing people on a bathroom scale. She noticed how really cold it was and that the little girl was not only barefooted, but had scars on her feet. So 6 year old Angelina took off her own shoes, shoes that she loved, and gave them to the girl. Angelina decided she wouldn't wear shoes in her performances to remind her of all the children in the world who had no parents, proper clothes, or shoes. She remembers that girl every time she takes off her shoes to perform. Of the encounter, little 6 year old Angelina wrote in her diary: “The world is very strange. Right then and there I felt as if a door in my heart opened up, and it was filled with lots of lights. It was as if there was, from Earth to Heaven, a staircase. I climbed the stairs. To be able to do something for another human - it was such a big thing…hard to describe really.” In 2015, at 9 years of age, Angelina wrote a book about the encounter (making her the youngest published author in Norway). The book and her attire Angelina wore for her AGTC audition (above) were designed by her grandmother, who was herself a child prodigy in poetry and art. She has performed in charities for children, helping to raise 21 million euros and millions of dollars.

You are a high quality reviewer / reactor, I claim, with high degree of justification...could you possibly improve your sound quality a bit. It seems like you are far from the mic or some such

I know it’s going to be almost heresy to say this, but ..... I didn’t like This Could be a Dream, that penultimate song. Loved everything else beyond words though
