Thank you for another reaction to Angelina. In my opinion, she is the best singer in the world, and there are thousands of others who would agree with me. Every moment you spend featuring her on your channel will being you great emotional satisfaction. There are so many things I get from this performance. Some I recognised immediately and those I missed were brought to my attention by the more observant Angelina fans (her Angels) and I thank them for letting me know what I had missed. (1) The realisation that at the age of 10 Angelina has shed all childishness from her voice. (2) A feeling that the placement of the spotlight at the beginning of her performance was deliberate. If it was, then, to my mind, it was a brilliant move. (3) The fact that Angelina arranged this song and that the band kept out of the way and let her voice be the focus. (4) The incredible low note she sang for the word "good" at the beginning and end of the performance. (5) That wonderful crescendo at the end. (6) The was Angelina used her left arm and hand throughout the performance (7) The way she changed the microphone from her right hand to left hand, so that she could flip her hair back with her right hand. (8) The cheeky smile she gave to the cameraman when she realised he had focused on her at about 5.03 in your reaction video. (9) The sideways look and grin she gives to her instrumentalists just after she curtsies to the audience -- as if to say, "Yeah, we killed it, guys! Now let's go get some ice cream!" (10) The almost instantaneous switch from "performance" mode to that of a young child who,curseyed and gave a sweet smile to the audience as an acknowledgement of their applause. Others have commented that the performance by Nina Simone should be considered the "gold" standard for this song. Until recently, I had never watched her performance, but have now done so. They just cannot be compared, for Angelina's arrangement is totally different

Most fans & vocal coaches believe that her voice was that of a fully grown vocalist buy this age (10), but in the 7 years since it has continued to be more refined, powerful & controlled & that will probably continue into her mid to late 20's, which is hard to comprehend. Angelina was introduced to the song by dj Avicii when Angelina was 9 years old. Angelina did sing with him in a Volvo commercial. Angelina's full version here is based on Avicii's version but added Nina Simone horns and her own special ending.

Hi Nina, Great reaction as always. Since she is 10 here, she also did a (Baby Fuzz cover called I've been Holding Out For You) at the same age. You have to listen to this because this shows the beginning of her maturity. I think this must have been done well before 'The Feeling Good" performance where she sounds even more mature. When Angelina was 7 years old she sang the Billie Holiday cover 'I'm a Fool to Want You' on Norway's Got Talent in which you did a reaction to. She did the same cover at age 11 at a recording session with her grandmother. You have to hear this because her voice had so matured that you would think Angelina had become Billie Holiday. Angelina did an Elvis cover 'How Great Thou Art'. This might not be my favorite but since you're a vocal coach I would like your analysis of how a 12 year old girl can sing in the same key as Elvis.

What a nice reaction. I would like to suggest: "It is a man's World", Angelina performed in the open with the Staff Brassband from the Norwegian Army when she was 12... To me it is one of her very best performances (although all her performances are impressive, to say the least). When you add the search with "adhanced version" you will get a video with better sound quality and subtitles. On that performance professional recording was not allowed.

I came here with the same recommendation. That, and the very emotional I am still holding out for you.

Earlier in that year, she performed at a festival, bright daylight where she could see every distraction from the audience, and her jumping eyes gave her a weaker start - there were sooo many distracting signs, fans, etc. But, in the second half, there's something powerfully good that audiences can 'give back' - enthusiasm. An emotional tsunami that is seen and felt - and her climax at this same song is so more powerful. Compare the two... she's got two versions of SUMMERTIME (you've seen the karaoke version; there's a lunch festival version that is slower paced and all the more mesmerizing with a live orchestra)... compare those two as well.

This is such an amazing performance for any age let alone a 10-year old. The big blast at the end is incredible, but all along the way beautiful things happen in a wonderful build up in intensity and dynamics. Angelina seemed to be very pleased with it judging by her smile and giggle at the end. Look out for fan favourites such as "Holding out for You " , "Its a Man's World " , " A Million Years Ago " "Stay" , " Young and Beautiful" and my absolute favourite, " I'd Rather Go Blind ". Angelina lost indeed somewhere along being ten the last traces about being a child in her voice. The Norwegian barefoot princess now living in LA is the best young female vocalist we have today - Now 17 years old. Angelina sings better than already established world stars. No one can stop Angelina from becoming a world star. That's just how it is! Her first singel will be released 5th Mai 2023, and her album will be released later in 2023 with Republic Records. Over the years, she will become a legend for the great moments in the world. She has plenty of time. Remember she is just 17 years old today, which we forget when we see her perform. You should really do "I'm holding out for you" next. This was a song she and her Family decided to never sing again, due to its references to suicide. But her vocals in this song are stunning and I believe she is either 10 or 11 in that video as well. Its mind blowing. (not that that should come as a surprise...lol) I feel like that is one of her best performances I've heard to date.

Thank you Nina for reacting and commenting on Angelina's rendition of Feeling Good at just 10 years of age !I think she was magnificent in her performance and was really focused on her vocal delivery totally as you can see her managing herself throughout the song ! I like that she manages a smile when she has the camera blasted in her face and I'm sure that would scare the crap out of most people ! Loved her back to being a child curtsey at the end of her performance ! Her voice is absolutely brilliant but I'm more impressed with her stage presence and how she navigated with a live TV audience , the lighting , the cameras and a live band so naturally and fearlessly it's uncanny ! I know singing with a live band is a most daunting task and requires great intuition and especially timing ! The final minute of this song gave me goosebumps as I didn't know if she could rise , deliver and finish a most difficult section of the song ! But she was on point and flawless it had me in tears as a proud parent might feel ! Angelina you will find has the effect on a lot of the older generation who see her as one of their own children ! Great reaction and observations Nina. Angelina by this age of 10 has left her child voice behind and is gaining maturity in all aspects of her performing. This was the song that first introduced me to A.J. and I was blown away by the power and control that she was showcasing, it really shook me. Even at this ridiculous young age Angelina.s performance is full of subtle nuances and showed that she really knew exactly how she wanted this to go down. After watching it 3 times I was hooked and now I need my fix of A.J. in the morning with my coffee or the day just is not starting out in the proper way lol. Thx again NIna.

Nina, AJs range and depth of voice at this age made me thrill to listen to it. Here at 10 she recorded a cover called "Holding Out For You" that was made as a demo tape. It was not meant for release but was so good that it found its way online anyway. This would be my top suggestion for AJ at this age of 10... it is a radio ready masterpiece. Just a year later at 11 her lower register dramatically started opening up and she started recording songs that Elvis had sung but in the key that Elvis sang in! She also recorded some Lana Del Rey songs exhibiting low register legato lines that displayed AJs growing breath control. For her 11 year old stage presence growth I would recommend covering AJ doing "Loving You" live in an outside venue. (make sure it is the one outside and "enhanced" as there is another inside recording of lesser sound quality).

The song is: Ev'ry Time We Say Goodbye, performed on TV 2 Norway in the summer of 2016. It's recorded on a rooftop in Oslo. The Norwegian presenter says they are happy to hear this before Angelina travels to the US. That context gives this song extra depth besides an excellent performance. Another classic performance, age 12 I believe: I'd Rather Go Blind. no big band, just her sitting mild-mannered on a sofa, with a backing track. Then she brings out the bazooka 🙂
