I own a xiaomi pro and doing a commute from london to slough via vauxhall to paddington, train to slough then to a data centre then back is just about doable on one charge. But I must stress that it's best you have a charging point wherever you leave or park it, on it's last few bars it will slow down to 8mph. I've also learned the hard way of never challenging anything that looks to be higher than 10cm. Unlike bikes with bigger wheels you should not try to go on pavements with steps, I will always try to find the flat surface to slide in on or stop and bring the scooter on the pavement. I ate dirt when I tried to challenge it, you could also attempt a physical jump on the scooter but I'm sure you'll eventually break something. Note, watch out for potholes on cycling lanes if you're on the road. I travel on the early hours and late hours where it's dark and these potholes can cause a huge accident on a busy road, potentially life threatning. These are pretty common. Also it's incredibly difficult to do hand signals with a scooter since your right is occupied with acceleration, it's why it's almost a necessity to get an accessory to do this for you. There is no suspension on this thing, you will feel every gravel, twig and bug you crush... Also got stopped for the first time yesterday at hyde park by an officer, let me off with a warning. All in all, I'd say wait till it's legalised or get a bike (hell I'm eyeing a brompton more and more), if you travel a short distance in london then I could recommend it or any other city with good cycle lanes.

First of all I have to say you are the only KZbinr I spend time ACTUALLY commenting and liking( and obviously subscribing), keep up the good work Ben! You are a great creator, I used to be a camera man myself so I know how much work you put into filming and editing. Now to the video! This one was clearly an upgrade comparedכ to the old scooter showdowns, a lot more detailed and that range test! my god! 30+ KM a day on a scooter, what a sacrifice! I feel like just like you've said, the ninebot was built to be a rental scooter rather than an owned one, and it looks like it's made at the same factory of the Xiaomi or something, they are too much a like. Waiting for your next one!

I love my ninebot max here in Auckland ! I can't compare it to the others but I'm absolutely loving it
@WhenTheUhh5 жыл бұрын
I bought the Max and I love it precisely because of the minimal anxiety. Infinite range, large wheels, the tubeless tires are also self-healing (filled with sealant or some shit), there's no charging brick to carry around, the 25 km/h speed is great simply because I don't want to die (also when there's no option to, I don't always feel like I should be going faster), the headlight is not only the brightest but it's cone is also shaped so it doesn't blind people, the IP rating is even better for the core components (IPX7), charging time beats the Xiaomi Pro by 2 hours (and it charges more range while doing so), and because it's meant to be used by sharing companies it's basically indestructible. Edit: And also (like the Xiaomi) it wasn't designed by children, which I can't say about the Turbowheel.
@gtone3395 жыл бұрын
I might wait until Ninebot decides to properly mass-produce the Ninebot Max unless they bring out a brand new variant, which I will dub as the Ninebot Max+ due to some minor issues that needs to be addressed such as the lack of suspension or weight reduction (from 18.7kg to 17.5kg) or increase of mileage to 80km or heck 100km! Really wanted the handle bars & foot deck to be slightly darker like how the Xiaomi Pro is darker than the original Xiaomi M365.
@WhenTheUhh5 жыл бұрын
@@gtone339 Mate, like Ben, I've tried to test the range. Trust me, I really did... Your body gives up sooner than the scooter. The increased range would only be helpful if you're planning on not charging it for a week or something.

Love the reviews as always. I was stuck between the Swift and the Max for a while last year. Ultimately ended up with the Max because of how sturdy it was. I've got a onewheel for fun and electric bikes for speed. The scoot was always just for putting around. Now there's custom firmware flashers out there and it's quick, at the price of some of that range. I'm happy with my choice.

Hi, I bought a 12 mile old M365 pro 2 from a 15 stone guy who was disappointed with its hill climbing ability. I am 13 stone. I bought it for £335 and had a bargain. My main commute involves a tow path, dirt track, cycle path, B road path and a long steep hill back to my house. The round trip is only about 3 miles and I’m left with a healthy 65% battery at the end, so range doesn’t seem a problem. The hill at the end keeps me at a healthy 21 km per hour. But at the steepest parts of a hill it drops to 10-11 km per hour. Now I’ve seen the videos on KZbin of the Ninebot max G30 with its 10” tubeless wheels and more importantly the 350 watt motor at the rear it got me thinking 🤔 do I buy it and sell my pro 2 for say £300. I saw your video (very informative, and well done on the range test 👍🏻). Having ridden both, do you think I’d be disappointed with the extra spends for the minor extra gains, or do you think the 350 watt motor will relieve the 10-11 km per hour bogging down. Confused ! I’d value your thoughts on it ? P.S am I likely to get a puncture on the Pro 2 now that they have better thicker tyres ?

After a couple of weeks of watching reviews for all kinds of scooter (I'm 5'10" 175 lbs and I plan to commute 11 miles each way from Queens to Manhattan) I choose the Segway MAX. The Horizon was a close 2nd. Deal breaker for me is that the MAX looks sturdier/built like a tank and low maintenance.

I got my ninebot max through indiegogo... tried it now to avoid commuting to avoid using public transport and and suspension is ... well non existent as you show, range is very long, wish they could have made it lighter with less range. Speed is an issue when going next to traffic, just downloaded a new firmware (not from the maker) to get 30+ km/ph which should make it much enjoyable. Using as much as the back roads as possible but it is getting me around which is great. Any news on weather the e-scooters will be legal in the UK ( I worry every time I see the authority on the road but so far no one has said anything). Great video … 👍

That's right Ben, the Xiaomi Pro should of had the Ninebot Max's refined bell's & whistles, and its good that you provided feedback on those 10"inch pneumatic-tubeless tyres like how its more stable than the xiaomi pro's 8.5" inch tyres and its more puncture-resistant as well (totally agree on that one). Yes, the weight of the Ninebot Max is 4.5kg heavier than the Pro due the larger battery capacity & increase of dimension as well. I'm impressed that you tackled the range test in Sports mode, and I knew the range would last around 35km-40km. For my Xiaomi Pro I hacked the speed up to 22mph/35km/hr since 25km/hr felt slow for me since I live in a open environment where footpaths are wider & roads are even wider as well. Well, since you made this vid I'm not so sure whether to get the Ninebot Max unless I test one for myself. Oh by the way, Ninebot or Xiaomi may add suspension for their future E-scooters so keep an eye on them & the Ninebot T60 (Tri-wheel) next year!! Anyway, advance Merry Christmas to you Ben hehe! 🎄🎅👍🛴😁

Hi Ben, what is the proper way to charge the Xiaomi m365 pro? Do you charge it with the display on or off?

Bought the Xiaomi Pro recently for my 6km commute daily. So far, good, but I take the back roads and ride on the road where it’s smoother so not much problem. Would LOVE suspension though... Oh, and one one flat tyre already!

Tell me about it! Had 2 flats so far on my Xiaomi Pro (front tyre) and now ever since I purchased a more durable pneumatic tyres the tyres lasts longer than the stock ones.

gtone339 Waiting to see if it’s a regular problem. After fiddling too long, I took to a bike shop that fitted a new one for $20 (NZ). Worth it.

I'm in the US so my Max has a top speed of just over 18mph. Like your Max my top speed will drop to 17mph after one bar or so of battery loss. I'm okay with this as long as the scooter will maintain a speed of at least just over 15.5mph. I'm all about having jumbo range and always want more of it so it was definitely a major selling point for me with the Max. Yeah, suspension would be nice, but I've accepted the fact that the Xiaomi-like design of this scooter just doesn't lend itself to having it.

I want to buy a scooter to use for commuting to leisure centre instead using car, but I've read it's illegal to use virtually anywhere! How do you get round this and how did you manage to get all over London without being fined? Cheers

The pro for me, anything heavier and clunkier defeats the point of having a scooter. If you want fun, get a dualtron and have a smaller scooter for commuting. I have my 14kw ebike for fun and the pro for running errands.

Just brought the the xiaomi pro 2 I work 8 miles away and want a reliable ride, I’ll let you know how it goes. Ow and I’m in Nottingham uk, so the paths and roads are rough lol

How did it go?
@Colt74174 жыл бұрын
@@MrAskinyardim I’ve done over 400 miles on it now and it’s been faultless tbf, been in rain, snow, minus temperatures, and still working perfectly fine, definitely don’t get the range but as I said I live in uk so roads paths are not great and fair few hills on my way, so I charge it once I’m at work but it gets me there with 1 to 2 bars left, definitely worth the money all day

@@Colt7417 sounds good mate. Im in london so it would be very familiar to your ride. I only travel 2 miles back and forth to work so i should be good. Just waiting for it to get a bit warmer before i buy.

@@MrAskinyardim easy work for it then, yeah summer will be mint on it, would be sound nipping country pubs with the lads on them but doubt that’s going to happen lol

i did 600 miles on a ninebot max. tried many others. bought the swift. ben fox didn't show the swift provides an optional suspension bolt on seat that FOLDS!, and a fast charger that is 3x faster than the regular charger. it's a mini motocyle and it blows the ninebot max away. just in a different category. WAY better.
