Columbia... you could do better with the sound. As for people who say that those lectures are bad and offtopic. On the first lecture of the series (to 1500 CE) he explained that it's his final year of work so those lectures will not be about dates and wars it will be his comment on history and how to read it. And that's what he does. He creates narration thru which you can see the knowledge you already have, and sometimes it's mind blowinig. I know history and do not need a review of a book. This lectures are for people like me. As for the way he speaks. I've seen much worse. I do not expect a teacher to be a show man, I only expect him to teach me something new I couldn't learn, just by reading a few books.

It's only the first few minutes that have the horrible sound but it's true you would think Columbia could do better as the sound is bad for this whole series. For the idiotic comments ab out the quality of the lectures, you try giving 43 lectures about the entire history of the world without notes.

this lecture has a wrong title. only 5 mins out of 70 mins of the lecture has anything to do with the 19th century China.
