Ninh Binh videos - especially amazing drone footage of the dragon on top of the dancing mountains - are my favorite. I cannot believe you guys got the whole place to yourselves as many vloggers are fighting crowds where the dragon lies. I can never get enough of the natural beauty of that area. You guys should have gotten a bicycle and biked through the town and countryside for a slightly different experience as the people that do that really enjoy seeing nature slowly pass by.

Best time to go is at the crack of dawn, there’s no one there then. People usually flock there for sunset so we did the opposite haha 😆

Big thumbs up for you to catch sunrise at Hang Mua. I struggled big time when I went up the path. I throught to myself I waas just walking and struggled so much, I can't imagine the people that built those steps and had to carry all of those stone blocks, building in the heat of the middle of the day. Ninh Binh is beautiful, including their spectacular boat ride through the caves to get to the various temples. The grilled goat dish you had looks so delicious.

Vietnam shuts down around 12-2pm because people taking nap after lunch to avoid the heat, so it's not a Ninh Binh thing . Aewsome drone shots, your videos really prepare other tourists coming next month August 2023, when the country extends its visa policy from 30 to 90 days for tourists.

I suggest you to come back to Ninh Binh in Autumn (between the end of September and the beginning of October) just before the harvest . All the rice paddies will turn yellow making you feel like being in a golden painting . Check-out Mu Cang Chai in Yen Bai province as well to admire the stunning golden colour rice terraces there , one of the most beautiful in Asia . More hidden gems in VN to discover that not many foreign tourists know about : Pu Luong , Pha Din pass , Bac Ha , Moc Châu , O Quy Ho pass , Lo Xo pass , Pleiku , Kontum , HCM road and many more spots . But go there only on the dry season .

Places like Hoi An, Hue, Phong Nha, Ninh Binh, Hanoi, Ha Long, Sapa, Ha Giang is why I say Central and Northern VN are more interesting and picturesque. HCMC is fun and friendly too but I just don't get a sense of VN's uniqueness. We traveled from South to North and left the country with a much more vivid image of VN's uniqueness and strong sense of culture.

I agree with you...the karsts in Vietnam are absolutely stunning. Majestic, breathtaking, mystical...it really makes you realize the beauty and grandeur of nature at her best. I'd take those mountain views/karsts to the beaches...and if they ever make it to the Ha Giang Loop, they will see more amazing views. Ha Long Bay is absolutely gorgeous, but overcrowded and too much trash that ruins it's beauty.

@doodahgurlie just being honest. And also comparing paddy doyle's cost of halong Bay cruise to his jungfraujoch Swiss train ticket up to the sphinx and glacier and ice Palace. I pick Swiss alps train ride up at usd 225 to 230.

That’s stunning. It would be even more stunning if there are no flags and the little Buddist statue there. I see there are beautiful places like parks and sceneries they built the temple or buhda statue there, it would take away the beauty of those places.

Be carefull with the drone shots, the military is always actively looking out for random electronic stuffs flying into their bases or specialized zones. They WILL shoot your drone down if you violate their no fly zones. And you will possibly be facing some hefty fines if caught, too. DJI drones does have these areas on their map and the flycam will not fly into marked no-fly areas, I'm not sure about other brands.

There are no military areas around Ninh Binh (not that we know) and the drone won't fly there anyway as DJI has zone restrictions 👍🏻
