I have a 24 ninja 1000sx and the Service manual specifically says to adjust while on the "Side Stand", not on a Paddock. I also check the Right side to make sure the Adjusters are set dead on equal, I do not trust that the Right Side will always landing perfectly straight.

Triumph ( 1993 - 1997 models, maybe others ) have identical cam type chain adjustment system ,it looks & works exactly the same! I changed the clamp bolts to 304 stainless as the stock ones tend to corrode & seize. Good vid !

Smart system with the cam -- on my Yamaha TMax no chain - have to take apart the transmission case every 12k miles and replace the V-Belt -- $400 at dealership or 4 hours of hard labor at home. Nice bike -- helpful video! Thanks!

I have a 2014 Kawasaki Ninja 1000 ABS. Mounted swing arm spools soon after my purchase. While out riding on one of my favorite roads in Northern Kentucky. The suspension compressed at the bottom of a hill just before I crossed a bridge. The left hand side spool came in contact with the bottom of the stock muffler. When I arrived at my destination I noticed the spool was at angle and the impact had broken the weld on the spool mount. The bike was still under the one year factory warranty. So I took the bike to my local Kawasaki dealership and filed a warranty claim. Sighting that Kawasaki was negligent in not disclosing that the swingarm spool could come in contact with the muffler and cause damage to both. They replaced my entire swingarm for free. I found out about the problem after the fact by searching it and found that I wasn't the only one this had happened to. I now have my R&G swingarm spools attached to Dimotiv brackets which have moved the spools back farther so they can't come in contact with the muffler when the suspension compresses. I have purchased a full exhaust system from Brazil from Firetong Europe which will eliminate both exhaust canisters and the stock header and catalytic converter. Dropping a bunch of weight and gaining a few more horsepower. Plus no more worries about anything hitting anything anymore.

Didn't know this bracket existed! The mount that the spool screws into on the swing arm is I assume, the same mount as this bracket screws into. My mount snapped clean off. Wonder if they make a clamp on style.... I didn't see a 2016 version of the bracket. This is good find! Thanks for sharing
@@Wrenchie Firetong full exhaust system made to order from Brazil through through the European distributor in Italy. It was shipped on January 17th. www.firetong.com.br/detalhes/50/z1000
I've looked at the notches on both left and right after adjusting on the left and they dont match up...why would that be and how do you fix it?

I just went out and adjusted it, you remove the retaining rings, loosen the axle nut and loosen the 8mm hex for the tightener, and when you loosen it you can adjust both sides by themselves, then just tighten it down again, 100nm on 12hex axle nut and 65nm on the 8mm hex nuts 👌
