I liked the exhausts but when I switched to the naked they had to go because they made chain maintenance impossible. If I had kept the SX I think I'd have added a Tutoro oiler. Don't know about crashability though. I laid mine down whilst stationary by slipping on gravel and it was over £1,000 in damage. I didn't have the crash bars and the weight meant it was very easy to get past the point of no return.
@NooBiker8 ай бұрын
Yes, she's definitely a heavy beast and hard to hold once tipping. I thought about installing an oiler but never followed through with it. The crash bungs definitely help.

I had the SW Motech frame sliders on my 2023 and they are no where near wide enough in my opinion. Changed to Trex frame sliders, much better. Also changed the turn signals to led units with flasher relay, much brighter. Installed X blaster rear tail light, huge improvement. Next is a Moore Mafia ecu flash to get rid of the restrictions on the bike.

The SW Motech crash bars have saved some damage on both sides (slow speed drops) Thanks for the feedback and info on the other changes. I'll consider them in the future 👍

A well done and in details video. I like it. The exhaust is really there on the way. I never rode it, but I sat on it. It felt a bit small for me, but overall it is a great looking bike. I like it. Got my like bro. Take care and keep it up. You are almost at 1000 SUBS.

It's good that you like the bike, Noob, as there's nothing worse than lashing out a lot of money only to find it doesn't meet expectations. It's one of the best selling sports tourers so many folk are obviously impressed with it.

I'm a very reluctant buyer at the best of times and really obsess with those types of decision. I keep thinking about changing from this bike but can't find any that make sense
@MattMiss798 ай бұрын
I agree. The bike is totally underrated. I just bought mine. A 2012 model though. Only has 20k miles on the clocks. I did test ride a new 2024 model first and I must say there isn’t much of a difference between the two. The engine is really the highlight of this bike. The suspension is a little soft but after a fork service and fiddling around with the settings I finally got it set up the way I need it to be. It’s just an awesome bike, real value for money. For touring I am looking to get a top box and those removable arms to help strap soft luggage to it (instead of hard cases) which I’m hoping will address the issue you mentioned regarding the weight and subframe. I have fitted a tall touring screen which made a huge difference. The stock screen does absolutely nothing to divert the wind. I have heated grips and the R&G protection all over. Other than that there really is no need for anything else to add to the bike. It’s perfect! I can’t wait for the weather to improve and go some weekend trips. 😊

I think you can fit a Shad and the standard paniers. The Shad is the only top box I'm aware of that fits with the paniers.
@NooBiker8 ай бұрын
I am using mostly the panniers these days, which I bought second hand and had to drill out the locks (separate video on the channel). The Shad system is compatible with the panniers as Pin said. Just check the rear subframe for movement and play at regular intervals 👍

I've always been a fan of the 1000SX, one of my biggest regrets will be not going for one when I was looking between the 1000SX and the Triumph Sprint ST 1050, I loved my sprint, but these are so much better all round. I've never seen an owner talk about their bikes crashing ability 😂 A lot of Kawasaki's suffer with poor finish, Red's vulcan was suffering with the paint on the swingarm towards the end of his ownership. You should try removing the fairings on the ZZR1400 😂 I will always be a lover of Frankie, great video mate, hope you're doing well. Loved the outtakes 🤣
@NooBiker8 ай бұрын
Thank you buddy. I won't hide my crashes even though I'm not proud of them 😭 but it turns into a positive point for the bike, they're very solid but unfortunately start to look a bit tatty after a while if not careful. As you know my bike is no garage queen so she's now got "distinguishing marks" as I like to call them 😂

Hi Always wanted one of these being a Kawasaki fan boy. I wanted to trade my Gen 1 ZZR 1400 in for one. on the test ride I thought it was great as it felt lighter and more agile. Wife didn't agree she felt the ZZR was more comfy and had a bit more pillion room as the ZZR is a bigger bike. So only thing to do was trade the Gen 1 in for a gen 2 ZZR. If the wife stopped riding pillion I would still consider one of these.
@NooBiker8 ай бұрын
The ZZR is a great bike. I tried one before making up my mind to go for the SX. Unfortunately I'm a little short with short arms, so the position on the ZZR felt a bit too leaned over, but I loved how it rode and handled. Only one solution: your wife gets a bike license and you both ride a Z1000SX 😁😉
