I love how people don't understand the point of building a smaller bike. They are like...just buy a H2 and race it!! I can build a 600 race bike that will smoke this. Yea..I'd hope so, but can you riding it? But, some people want to race in a different class..some want to save money and have it done right. Sure, you can buy a 600 and throw it on a track with only brakes and pipe perhaps...but these little bikes, you can do a lot more for the price of a new 600.

The 300 series bikes are becoming more popular and that is exactly why Kawasaki responded to the need with the 400, i agree with you and so does major bike manufacturers...
@TheVanquisherGaming

Agree ..also these so called little bikes are capable enough to get you out of tricky situations, it gives you enough fun on open highways , gives better mileage also if not ridden carefully they can pass you to the other side( after death).So these so called little bikes are actually much more practical. Litter class bikes are strictly meant to be on the tracks only but people made it like these litter class are the real deal....pity on them.

I'm an Indian biker, I just liked 'that' comment and saw yours. But your comment made me crack hard! Seriously. 400cc+ bikes are getting common (or maybe i ride one so i like to think that?) Anyways, cheers man, have a nice day! PS its not a smart choice to go anything above 200cc around here, our streets are small and chaotic with slower traffic.

Collin Mac lol. If you are trolling and you're not Indian then this is a pretty rare, high maintainence & pricey bike for india. Whats common here, comparatively in this segment, is a cheaper, hence heavier, sohc variant of the duke 390, dominar 400. And then there are the Royal Enfields out there with 350cc+ motors.

This guy really loves small displacement bikes, especially to race them. I dont blame him, they are fun and accessible to every one. In Uk there was the 500cup, I wonder if it's still exist, they used Honda CB500's which were also great bikes to race with.

I meant to say that its a Junior Cup class... Rules specification don't allow you to go bananas on the mods so definitely the bikes will be way cheaper plus the fact that there are plenty of parts manufacturers and big price competition between parts manufacturers have made things a lot cheaper. Thanks.

Ari - I know the front needs to be lowered slightly for the vortex clip ons to fit, but do you know if the rear was initially lowered to match when the front drop? I know the rear shock is adjustable, but Im looking into installing vortex clipons to my wife's 400, but its still on a stock rear shock and stock front suspension. I didnt know how much "too" much was when lowering this particular model. from what I've read it should only need to be dropped 5mm, but I'd hate for her to find any stability issues when shes out on the track.

No, there isn't more. He changed the power curve because he couldn't rev it out. Learn about the area under the graph.. You can trade hp for torque or visa versa.
@exothermal.sprocket
@exothermal.sprocket 6 жыл бұрын
@@skewty Of course there is more. A custom cam profile isn't going to suddenly fall flat on it's face after the 10k limit, if the limit is removed. Increased compression ratio practically guarantees that. The math formula for horsepower just requires more revolutions per minute to increase power, everything else equal. If the heads can flow more air, they can make more power with faster engine speed.

It is a A2 bike.. An A2 bike has a power limit of 35kW = 47bhp and a power to weight limit of 0.2kW/0.268 bhp per kg, so if you want the full power of 47/48bhp you need a bike with a wet weight (full tank and oil) of 175kg. The Ninja 400 comes in at 168kg so the power limit is 44bhp.

Yeah, I hadn't gotten that far in the video :S I just feel for Yamaha and all the money spent in this class that became instantly invalidated by the release of this bike. We've got a A2 license arms race now. Which is great for riders, but is going to be painful for the racers for a couple of seasons until the R3 gets upped in displacement. The 390R was also a huge kick in the teeth from the discussions I've had with Ken Hill and others who coach these kids.

Ok. I was really impressed with your ktm race bike since and I was more than stocked up when I saw you tuning the r3 in the Dyno and that pov on track. Still waiting for more vdos on that r3 as am having one myself. Yours reviews are awesome. Keep them coming. Love from India 😀✌🏻

When he said 50 something HP that's at the wheel. The 49hp version sold is about 44.5hp at the wheel I believe. Just watched a video on this.

How does this compare to your custom rc390? A video on that would be nice. Track and street use comparison if possible
