Have a like and a new subscriber, because this video quickly and easily answered the question I searched youtube for, "Ninja 500 invert display". The owner's manual isn't always clear.

Thank youfor this video, recently got a 2024 ninja 500 and I'm at 360 miles and gonna bump mine up a bit. I wish the dealership would of told me this. They basically just wanted to sell me the bike nothing more 😂
@ChristopherNinja500SEАй бұрын
@@clever805 congrats on the bike. Yeah. Some dealerships are more helpful than others. The place that I bought the bike from gave me some information, but certainly didn't go through all of the features.
@clever805Ай бұрын
@ChristopherNinja500SE it actually didn't work for me. Didn't realize this only works for the SE version. I have the 2024 500 abs all black. Is there a way to turn up the engine speed on this model?
@ChristopherNinja500SEАй бұрын
@clever805 I'm not familiar with how to adjust the shift light on the standard display. Sorry. Check your owner's manual. Adjusted or not, the engine will still rev to 11k or so. Hopefully you figure it out.
@clever805Ай бұрын
@ChristopherNinja500SE alright thanks for the reply. Ride safe bro. My manual only shows for the SE version to change limiter
@ChristopherNinja500SEАй бұрын
@@clever805 thanks. Ride safe. Maybe the next time you are at the dealership someone there can show you.

Thank you for the info. I've been looking for display settings. I recently purchased the 40th anniversary 500

@@DaddyFromTn I love the 40th anniversary paint scheme. It is a bit too much for me. Congrats and enjoy the bike.

I set my shift indicator at 10250 and it's worked well, after break in of course.
@ChristopherNinja500SEАй бұрын
@@RobertMorgan that seems like a good number. Gives you a little over rev. My bike is stock, so I settled on 9500. Most of the dyno runs that I've seen for the 500 have peak power around 9200 to 9700. So 950p it is. 😁 lol

What are the functions of "bluetooth connectivity"? I don't quite understand what it is for, does it show google maps on the screen or what can be done?
@ChristopherNinja500SE6 ай бұрын
It doesn’t appear to do much while riding. Like you I had hoped that it would allow navigation on the tft screen, but it doesn’t. So it is a bit disappointing. All it seems to do while riding is light up an icon on the screen if you get a call, text, and/or email. So not very useful. Off the bike, after the ride there are a couple of semi useful features. You can review certain aspects of your ride. And it will alert you to upcoming maintenance and other service issues. So mildly useful. The app gets less than 2* in the google store, and the reviews are not good. It doesn’t seem well thought out.

The metrics it tries to capture, with random accuracy and completeness, are nice, speed, gear position, temperature, but they're none of the info I'd WANT, like lean angle, corner entry speed, g forces, fuel maps or anything 'cool' like that, and all that info you get from the dash display anyway. I'd like it to capture, via bluetooth and the factory app, all the OBDII data available and displayed/uploadable for inspection. Take note Kawasaki, my LAWNMOWER has it's own app that does all that, and it's a 2018 model...
@WhippyWhip2Ай бұрын
i thought it had a light sensor in the dash for day night mode?
@ChristopherNinja500SEАй бұрын
@@WhippyWhip2 It has a sensor to brighten or darken the display in either setting. The sensor itself won't change the display setting.

Hi. Do you remember what your engine speed was when you got it. I think mine is to high because the shift lamp doesn’t go off. Thank you.
@ChristopherNinja500SE6 ай бұрын
When I 1st picked it up at the dealership the shift light was set for 4000 rpm.
@Curt_TheCrossIsTheWay6 ай бұрын
@@ChristopherNinja500SE thx man I had to set mine they had it at 10250 I know something was wrong.
@ChristopherNinja500SE6 ай бұрын
@@Curt_TheCrossIsTheWay no problem. That 4k recommended rpm for the 1st 150ish miles is challenging since it limits you to about 44/45 mph. After that Kawasaki recommends a 6k rpm limit for the next 100 miles. That slightly higher limit opens up a lot more use ability. I’ve had my 1st 600 mile service, so I can now rev it however I want. It was difficult, but I tried to break it in according to the manual since I plan to keep this bike for a long time.
@Curt_TheCrossIsTheWay6 ай бұрын
@@ChristopherNinja500SE thank you. I don’t know if it reaches 45. I can get to 6th and I will look next time.
@WhippyWhip2Ай бұрын
@@Curt_TheCrossIsTheWay the bike will not blow up if you go over 4k revs, just don't go red lining it and you'll be fine
