They can't. The talent that made NG2 left the studio right when NG2 released, which is why Sigma 2 is such a mess. And the devs seem to have a grudge against Itagaki, so NG Black and NG2 will not ever see a rerelease. Any rerelease will feature the inferior Sigma versions. And Sigma 2 was as good as it was because the original NG2 was superb, but they didn't have that with NG3 and that game was a complete disaster. Even the Razor's Edge version is still meh at best. Current Team Ninja does not have the talent to create a proper 3D Ninja Gaiden game.

This is good news. Really love the Ninja gaiden series. Have been a fan since the early 2000s. I remember my accomplishment of beating the first boss when I was only 13 years old. Long-term fan. I never played the 2D side scroller NES titles, but the new Ninja Gaiden seems it can deliver. Will be picking this up for sure.

You know I was just thinking that we needed another old school style Shinobi game and here it is Ninja gaiden did it. I played the old Ninja gaiden back in the day on Nintendo. Although to be fair Shinobi had them beat at the ninja stuff in my opinion. Granted Shinobi was also on the Genesis instead of the nes. But this game is giving me Shinobi/Strider and of course old school Ninja guiding vibes. But based strictly on their old school platform styles this one is closer to how Shinobi was. However I need more games like this.

The Ninja Gaiden series finally goes back to its 2D side-scrolling roots, and with pixel sprites! And because KOEI Tecmo approves this game, it's a must have. Never thought Ryu Hayabusa is able to meet his past self! Hope they add more playable characters like Kasumi, Ayane, Rachel and Momiji. With breast jiggle physics too!!
