Here is Stage 2 of my no Ninpo/No Damage run of Ninja Gaiden: Shadow for the Game Boy inspired by AdelheidJS. Their KZbin channel can be found here: / @rks92101 where they have all sorts of great runs of different difficult games. Check it out!

Excellent execution on the fall at 0:37 - You've basically done what I hoped to in my own video of this stage, it worked in some attempts, failed in a few others, but in my successful run, I chose to be overly careful at this specific part and it ended up slowing me down. It was very satisfying to see you do it the right way and so fluidly. You went through the wheeled-floor part quite smoothly, it's one of the most tenacious obstacles of the level due to how much it impairs your progress, this is felt doubly-so during things such as speed runs / time attack. I'm glad to see how you never gave up during the lengthy boss fight, it's a very particular scene to partake in because it's very involved. the big guy takes a lot of space on the GameBoy and your movement suffers a certain handicap because of the Mini-Man constantly chasing you. It's also very stressful because you can never know when the boss is going to die, to trying to take multiple hits on the guy is an extremely gutsy and risky move, it must have been incredibly satisfying for you to finally defeat him and get this victory screen. Great job on this one.

Thank you so much. I watched your run as well and found a lot of things that you did to be very precise and where my second half of the level was much slower than I would have liked (even though some previous attempts were better) your level flow was great all around including the boss fight. That punch of his is by far the scariest thing he has because it is so damn quick. I'm really glad I saw your post about this because this game is so much fun. Learning the patterns to the bosses and stages is great because it does indeed feel wonderful to accomplish the feat of beating the stage with no real damaging mistakes. It's one of the reasons I did a no death run of Sunset Riders for the SNES on my channel a few years ago. It was painstakingly hard near the end but it was worth every minute I spent working on it. I can't wait to finish this game's challenge run and feel that sense of accomplishment here as well.

It seems our executions of this stage wound up being complimentary to one another, let's take satisfaction from this fact. His punch actually has less frames of animation than *any* of his other moves, this includes his very sudden 'run & bash' attack. The only real safe spot you have as a breathing room are the wire platforms which you climb on top of, and even though temporary safe spots find themselves being nothing but a placebo, because it doesn't matter where you position yourself in this screen, there isn't a spot where he can't reach you, and that, is what makes his battle so involved. I actually didn't expect my thread on SDA to be checked at all, so that makes both of us really glad. Seeing your reception to my content actually inspired me to submit more of my content on the forums, hoping others might appreciate my lunacy like you do. It is indeed great to learn and adapt to the boss's patterns. Notice that it is a similar type of fun as the one found in Mega Man or Contra games, it's rewarding to better yourself at because it's fair and you can see your improvement in real time. I'll be sure to give your Sunset Riders run a watch, I always like viewing footage of that game. And you'll see, once you beat this current challenge, you'll feel very satisfied.

I am very happy about that fact. Haha. And his "run and bash" attack is the one I meant to say was scary because it comes out of nowhere sometimes. The audio cue is only sometimes audible so I have to watch animations very closely to see when he was going to charge. I hope that more people check your runs out. I for sure will be checking your Hard Corps: Uprising run because that game is very very difficult with no deaths. I am very impressed with that. It's funny that you mention Contra because I totally forgot I did no death runs of Contra and Super C on my channel as well. :) I love those games as well as the Mega Man series because improvement is indeed extremely satisfying. Thank you for checking out that run also, it means a lot when someone gets enjoyment out of this stuff too.

Hey what goes around comes around my friend. Believe it or not, I find a lot of enjoyment in checking out other people's stuff, now that I know you've got Contra material on your channel I think I am set on a viewing journey. I'm glad you'll be checking my Hard Corps: Uprising videos, there's a commentary version but it is not yet complete. No-Death runs of Contra is amazing, I should try to get one done on recording someday.

You won't have any trouble the Contra and Super C runs if you choose to do them because Uprising is much harder in my opinion. Haha. I wish I could do them on Contra III for the SNES and Hard Corps for the Genesis but those kick my ass enough just going through normally. I've thought about doing commentary versions of some of these but I just didn't know if people would enjoy them. I am wanting to do retrospective videos soon though because who doesn't want to learn the history of some of their favorite old school games? :)
