This show really makes you appreciate Conquest. I mean sure, the show was overall pretty weak and it was horribly mishandled in many ways, especially the writing, but you can still tell there was a lot of effort and care put into it. When you watch the episodes, you really get the feeling that the people involved genuinely enjoy what they're doing and are trying to make the best show they could given what they had. The Next Mutation, in contrast, really feels like its makers were going out of their way to take the laziest and most obnoxious road possible every step of the way. The only people who seem have put _some_ effort into their craft would be the costume and make-up designers, and even those got pretty wonky at times (though I'm not sure if that's on the designers or on the TV crew not knowing or caring how to use them properly).

It's also weak, mishandled but also tried to tell a decent story and did care about the mythos of MK even though they botched that up in places. And the characters had more heroism and intelligence compared to these idiots (minus Venus). The Next Mutation made me appreciate Siro and even Stryker for all of their shit. They at least tried to do some good even if they sucked at it.

If you want a different take on silver with keeping his "backstory" from this series, I happen to have an idea Silver was still a yeti from the Himalayas (just make it explicitly so), but his home was invaded by several companies from New York, which drove him and his family out. Pissed at this (as anyone would be), he heads to New York to try and topple those who wronged him. As he couldn't really do it from outside, he worked his way up through the criminal underworld, as a sort of Robin Hood like figure, stealing from the rich and giving to the less fortunate, anything to remove those large and in charge from power. Silver and Gold could largely be the same, with the Turtles seeing him as a threat due to robbing banks and reserves, but then they have an encounter towards the end where he clears things up that he's specifically robbing from, I don't know, Baxter Corp. or something like that, due to the company ruining the lives of those less well off. And the lotto ticket episode could have been triggered by a young upstart who wanted to join his gang by taking the ticket for big loot, without Silver really knowing about this, and when it's brought to him at the end of the episode he'd be absolutely LIVID that the new guy stole from someone who could use the money better than them and chases him off, apologizing to the turtles for this huge waste of their time, and whatever the hell could've happened here could have not happened, as the two sides would be on far better terms at this point. I believe that would have not only improved Silver, but the show as a whole by adding a decent morally gray villain, who has good morals, but goes about them by preforming illegal acts, making the turtles conflicted on if they should stop him or not.

Excellent ideas! I think that so much of the Next Mutation rogues gallery could be easily rewritten as allies or anti-heroes if the turtles didn't jump to conclusions so quickly. I think all it'd really take to make this episode work with your idea is to make the Donatello hypnosis a plot by Dragon Lord and Dr. Quease, and Silver stumbles onto it when Donatello's suddenly pre-empting all the heists that he has planned. There's obviously some confusion when they all show up to steal the banana, but once they realize what's going on, they have to work together to break Don's hypnosis, which is especially hard because he's their only computer expert. I think the best thing that Next Mutation has done is give us a chance to conduct these creative writing exercises in the comments.

Bonesteel had potential as well, especially if they made him more of a monster/supernatural hunter, like Phelous suggested. I think that’s the saddest part about the series. There are vague ideas that are pretty solid, and one joke out of every ten or so episodes is kinda funny. But none of it ends up working, because it’s next mutation. And I don’t think any of the decent ideas will ever get used again, because of how obscure and terrible the show is. What I don’t get is why Venus of all things is the part of the show that everyone (including the original creator of the turtles, I’ve heard) latches onto as the most horrible irredeemable part of the whole thing.

And with the slowly dwindling amounts of cases, where monsters would be a thing, or at least in the general consensus, as well as the fact that he might actually be slightly unhinged himself, and therefore isn't all that capable of adapting to society, and it's sort of a case of "He only hunts animals because he pretty much has to, to live his life." , or something like that.

The only way I can see silver owning a computer and being stupid at the same time is that I think there could’ve been another villain meet up where dr. Quesse was selling some tech out on the street and silver and his gang are interested in the computer so he pays for the computer and setting it up and then silver discovers Donnie’s email from when quesse and Donnie were bonding. That’s how I see him getting this computer.
