Iwatani Naofumi, a run-of-the-mill otaku, finds a book in the library that summons him to another world. He is tasked with joining the sword, spear, and bow as one of the Four Cardinal Heroes and fighting the Waves of Catastrophe as the Shield Hero.
Excited by the prospect of a grand adventure, Naofumi sets off with his party. However, merely a few days later, he is betrayed and loses all his money, dignity, and respect. Unable to trust anyone anymore, he employs a slave named Raphtalia and takes on the Waves and the world.
But will he really find a way to overturn this desperate situation?

Spoiler alert: We learn that Raphtalia is actually royalty of country called Q'ten Lo and the miko attire is that of the royal family. So by wearing it she's basically saying I'm aiming for the throne

This season has been a vast improvement from season 2 in terms of animation, fight sequences, character introductions, and more. Though there are some flaws, but not as much as season 2, and we can agree that a little change in studio production and directors really changed and was able to make for season 2. Now, with season 3 of Shield Hero coming to a close, it is the end of a chapter, and the end is the new beginning of a new adventure for the heroes and their friends. We shall see you all fellow heroes in the next season. Hopefully they continue to deliver from this season onwards and keep up with the good work for fans of the series to enjoy. Let the true rising…begin.

This season was an improvement compared to Season 2, but the first season was still superior. Many plot points here felt rushed or skipped over, so here's hoping season 4 fixes that when it comes out. They should take their time with it and not rush so it ends up like Season 2.

much of the “rushed or skipped” feeling is pretty much a carry over from the utter mess that was s2. a lot of what is used in s3 should’ve already been shown/properly explained back on s2. on an additional note, the anime as a whole did a horrendous management of rishia’s character, from her introduction in s1, to what should’ve been her important points during s2 and the big break for her against itsuki in s3

Unfortunately, from what I saw from the Volumes on the wiki of this series, the next season would be the Shield Hero's equivalent of the Wano arc from One Piece. It would focus on the isolated Far-Eastern Island of Q'ten Lo and Raphtalia's battle with the Heavenly Emperor. Unless they would condense the new arc into a half-cour seasonal series, which I wouldn't advise due to the fast pacing of the previous season, don't expect fixed plot points or fulfilled ends (e.g. Malty's comeuppance) in the long term.

Good thing that the Season 4 will start with Q'Ten-Lo arc, as i was fearing that they ended ommiting this arc, and passed inmediately to the Phoenix Wave, as they were talking about that this Wave will happens soon during the Season 3, making me think that the Q'Ten-Lo arc would ended occuring in other time.

As an anime only whose follower this show since episode 1. To me as someone who loves to take things in. I believe in my opinion his wrath was conveyed well. When I watched the end of season 3 and he was listing off how he doesn’t care they invaded his territory and they were trying to harm raphtalia I immediately recognized they were using his wrath. I thought it was a nice touch and was easy to follow what was going on.

In my opinion, the "Princess Raphtalia" revelation is a bit too cliche. For one thing, it sounds like an excuse to say, "She's a princess? No wonder she's so badass!" The truth is, she'd still be a badass with or without royal blood. Not only that, but it also undermines her sense of agency, as if being a princess makes her destined for greatness. Honestly, her greatness comes from her own perseverance, not from destiny.
