This song holds a place in my heart, I associate with the 2-3 years of my life I spent being a thieving crack and heroin addict roaming the streets of the grim, dingey Northampton Town Centre using heavily everyday. I would listen to Babyshambles on the way to scoring. Now I'm clean, I still love Pete and his music x

LOVE this song to death. The quiet and pretty mixed with the bursts of frustration and confusion - the music that actually sounds confused and frustrated as the feeling put behind the words! As good as it is, it's sad to hear these two friends that are cemented together at the heart - but hurt by eachother telling their feelings in their songs with their new bands. I guess that's what grabs us about them - raw emotion behind the songs that just so happen to sound GREAT!

Hey buddy... yep your spot on, I was a massive Libs fan back in 2003, I remember it well. When they first played.. to the now infamous guerrilla gigs (which the Libs started) to Pete and his pipe & then unfortunatelyPete robbing Carl’s flat. Through drugs (he believed ) was the Romantic journey he and Carl where on ... course to Albion (both they’re utopian vision) only Carl didn’t see it with drugs. It came to a decision either quit drugs or your OUT of the Libs. Pete felt betrayed and hopeless... approx a year later... A’La.. Babyshambles. He made his choice. No one can say it was wrong or right because that’s the way things go. In response to your comment - genius lyrics for the middle 8 part.. yep 👍 unbelievably brilliant lyrics.. “you have me my first pipe anyway” suggests there’s more to it. Sorry for ranting I but this song brings back so many memories of when I hooked up with my girlfriend and had a kid.. had my own Albion... with the Libs & Babyshambles as a personal soundtrack. “Don’t look back into the sun” very loudly played in my car when I took my new family to Southport for the weekend. Music like this is hard to get.

@@theoutlaw5806 unfortunately pete was pied piper of heroin to many of us impressionable people. Life is what it is but it would have been happier and nicer for a lot of people if pete hadnt deluded himself drugs were necessary for artistic output. I made the mistake of making these people my role models for stuff beyond just the music. I blame myself of course but what we do and what we partake in has ripples and even more so when u are the voice of a lost generation for a time, at least. The media shouldnt have promoted it either

I spent 27 years with a needle and spoon, the heartache i caused my self and my family still haunts me, im same age as pete. Unfortunately i was hardcore to the bone. I would shoot so much coke and gear i was a shadow of a man. So many hospital visits and surgeries from shooting coke, the gear didn't do the damage the coke did. My vascular system is detroyed, i have no veins that are usable. Well there my neck that i would never use. I used my groin/fem and that caused me major issues. Kids do not do hard drug's. I beg you. You will not be happy or get anything from it except pain and misery. Choose life. Seriously. If i could go back in time i would never have smoked that first bag. It so good at first but when you wake up in cold sweats with stomach cramps and restless legs and arms and full of anxiety that lasts for a week. Unable to walk or stand because you gonna pass out from fatigue. Headaches coughing sneezing just the worst feeling. If you think flu is bad x it by 10 then you might be close.
