As a major Ace Attorney nerd, I am so excited that more people have a chance to play Investigations 2 now! Even if you're like me and didn't necessarily love the first Edgeworth game, absolutely give AAI2 a shot, it's one of the franchise's crown jewels.

Never was mentioned it'd be mid-late next year, if we get a reveal of the Switch 2 before 2025 (like November or December) then it can potentially be in the market by the 1st quarter of 2025, maybe even with-in the 3rd and 6th month of the year, but if you're trying to play off expectations of the Switches release, then that's probably why you're betting on mid-late next year. If the Switch 2 gets a reveal anywhere between the 1st and 3rd month of 2025 (the last few months of its window of which they said we'd get more info on it by then) then yes, I'd believe by that time it won't be till mid-late next year, we'll have to see with the remaining 6 months of this year if we get any updates/reveal by then, since that is what they said anywhere from now till March of next month (which would be maximum of 9 months). Hoping not too late of a reveal and really surprise the masses with a late 2024 reveal, and an early-mid release next year.

I honestly expected this Direct to be a dud, but it's honestly the best Direct I think Nintendo has ever done. I was never interested in the Mario & Luigi games before, but the art style was just SO endearing. Honestly though, for all the amazing announcements, the biggest surprise was the new Zelda game. I LOVE the direction they're going, not just Zelda being playable, but that looks like a SUPER fun gimmick they came up with her. Makes her totally distinct from Link, and I can already imagine a lot of room for creativity for both puzzles and combat.

Solid Direct! Mario and Luigi RPG's are ALIVE! Mario Party looks promising! A LITERAL Zelda game and it looks fascinating! And HOLY MOLY, Prime 4 is real and it looks incredible! Everything about its presentation fits right in with the original trilogy in such a good and clean way, that's astonishing! I do not recall a game series that had such a gap between games (I mean going from Prime 3 to 4 by this, of course) but still retained its old style and feel so faithfully without looking bland for it. They made us wait, but if that's a sign of things to come, the delay on this game is going to pay dividends!

Top Tier Direct, A+ if not S! The way MIO: Memories in Orbit revealed itself made it seem like it was this big-deal reveal, since most of those kinds of Nintendo Direct reveals don't have a headline introducing them. I remember thinking what kind of game this could be while it was playing and... well, it's certainly intriguing, and props to Nintendo for giving it the pomp and circumstance of an otherwise major reveal, but it still left me confused. While it IS cool that we're not able to play all 5 Donkey Kong Country games on the same console, it's still somewhat disappointing that we still haven't gotten a proper new Donkey Kong game in over a decade now... Finally seeing Dragon Quest III's HD-2D remake release date was great enough, but finding out they're ALSO doing the same thing for the first two Dragon Quest games is very surprising! Dragon Quest I is very light on story, so I hope they add a lot more to it with the remake, and I hope they balance out the difficulty of Dragon Quest II and give more interactions and personality to the other two party members after they join you. It's great that we're getting The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords and Metroid: Zero Mission on NSO finally, but man... I really want Wario Land 4 to come to the service. Hopefully it and the rest of the Wario Land games will have their day. Also, an app for Mature 17+ games... Maybe Conker's Bad Fury Day might have a chance now? I never played the Marvel vs. Capcom games, but my friends played 2 ALL the time back in the day, to the point where it's character select music is ingrained into my head, awesome to see the arcade collection coming to the Switch! For real, though, I'm such a sad nerd for Mario that the idea of Ninji being playable in the next Mario Party is one of the highlights of the Direct for me. I do hope Diddy Kong and Pauline will also be playable in Super Mario Party Jamboree, though. Everything else about the game looks awesome! If Ninji being playable was the number one (unironic) highlight of the Direct not involving Mario & Luigi, Zelda, or Metroid, than the Ace Attorney Investigations Collection announcement was definitely a close number 2! Seriously, it's so great that we're finally getting an official English translation for the second Investigations game! Really, Capcom's been on a role with all these modern releases of the Ace Attorney games! Could it be possible that a new mainline installment is coming?

Game I'm most excited for at this show? Mario & Luigi: Brothership. Strongest possibility of peeling Sega down from 5 GOTY nominees (In release order: Infinite Wealth, P3 Reload, Unicorn, Metaphor, Shadow Generations) to 4 (losing Shadow Generations or P3 Reload) at this show? Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom. Still not sure this, quite, manages to kick either of those games off the list, but I also wouldn't be entirely surprised if knocks one of them off.

As a DK fan, I was directly disappointed when I saw the dkcr reveal. So they really don't do a new DK game for the switch. I'm surprised about the positive reaction about this. Mario and Luigi looks FANTASTIC OMG. And echoes of wisdom as well looks absolutely fantastic. Metroid prime 4 looks like expected. Probably the mp remastered graphics. Looking forward to this, but it wasn't the absolute hype as I was thinking I would have 😅 without mp1 remastered in existance I would be more flashed I think.

In the DragonQuest trilogy 3,1,2 is the chronological order of events. the third game was a prequel to the first game. In the first game you're following in the footstep of the great Erdrick (which is the title of the legendary hero, not a name) So in the third game you actually play as the legendary Erdrick. And in the second game you play as the descendants of the hero in the first game. So the release schedule actually makes a lot of sense I think. I just hope that they do something to spice up DQ1 because it has not aged well. I mean it's extremely simple and "grindy". There's very little tactics required and you don't have a party of characters. Instead you're a single guy fighting turn based battle agains multiple enemy fights. It can feel very tedious. But it's also a very short game, I did beat it in an afternoon. Still I would appreciate if they added some quality of life features and perhaps some post game content. I mean after you beat the game you can still walk around and talk to people and they will thank you and stuff, but that's it.. No hidden super bosses or secret dungeons with better gear or anything like that.

Oh, Echoes looks like it is the same map as Link to the Past. That rock formation, the pillar area, to the right of the castle feels super familiar.

It's not a 1:1 recreation, but a lot of it is deliberately based on A Link to the Past. There are some key differences, though - there's a Hyrule Castle Town, a Gerudo Town, and most significantly, Death Mountain's in the northwest, with the top-right mountain being snowy. It does look like the map was also expanded quite a bit, given we see areas like a swamp/rainforest

Yessssss!!!!! Nintendo is king!!!! Nintendo loves their people!!!! Feels like everyone who is a Nintendo fan is in full alignment of what to be excited for, for this one. For Mario Party, I do agree with what I think Daniel alluded to. Mario does need to update their boards and not just be generic on getting around. It would be nice if some were simple where you rely on the mini games to win but also some boards where their gimmicks have a more cool/unique influence on winning.

Funko fusion is a lego game pretty much. The old lego marvel and lego star wars team made it. It's not for kids, however. Tons of blood and R rated ips so surprised it's here. How does it play? If you played any lego game that's how it plays.

Two things make me nervous about the new Mario Party. The stars cost 10 coins, and the turn timer showed that boards can last as few as 10 turns. Was really hoping with how Mario Party Superstars got better review scores than Super Mario Party, and the overall positive reception of NSO Mario Parties even by those that didn't grow up with them, it would've been nice to see them lean into the more traditional setup.

The 10 coins for a star looks like it was specifically for Rainbow Galleria, and only during special events (i.e. "Flash Sale"), and the 10 turns is probably only the minimum turn count. I'd imagine it'll go higher than that.

Am mixed on the Zelda game, love that Zelda has a unique playing style but I am not sure I like the direction they have gone with and I would rather hit things with a sword as link, especially after no traditional new zelda game for 11 years.

It's easily the most disappointing part of this Direct. I was so hyped for a second that we'd get a new 2D Zelda and get to play as her (even if I didn't really like the art style). And then Zelda starts stacking tables and it's like... so puzzles don't have unique solutions here either? It's more "we give the players tools and they figure it out for themselves" gameplay like in BotW? Sorry Aonuma, you've taken the series in a direction that alienates this old fan. I'd made my peace with losing 3D Zelda, but you had to put this in 2D too?

I am facepalming that some people are content with getting the bare minimum. Like, why do they add 1-2 games to the Online service every other month, when they should be adding at least 10 or 20? These are not new games afterall, but old ass games that takes NO effort or time to port, yet they expect us to be excited for these "bare minimum" announcements when I can boot up my emulator right now and have access to hundreds of games.
