Actually I think Luigi’s Mansion is still a nice fit on the 3DS. Luigi’s Mansion was originally tampered around to be playable in 3D, and after Dark Moon’s awesome 3D performance, it’s always something I wanted to see on the original. Ever since the 3DS released, I’ve always wanted a remake for it to see what the experience is like, and now it’s finally here. Luigi’s Mansion and its sequel are now both on the same system for fans to easily sit down and play them back to back. The other part is that I don’t think adding it to the Switch solves anything that the 3DS can’t do, except for a graphical enhancement of course. The original Luigi’s Mansion’s graphics still hold up today, and I’m much more intrigued to see the game play in 3D more than in HD, personally. Sure, on the Switch you can play it at on the big screen, but you can already do that with the original Luigi’s Mansion, and this game is looking very faithful to the original. It’s the short, fun, and readily replayable Luigi’s Mansion on the go. I’m not complaining. Although I think the Gamecube Version will rein superior as the definitive version, I think the kind of adventure that Luigi’s Mansion offers is a great move for playing on the go for the 3DS.

Depending on the game, the 3D effect was either something I never had on, or I always had on. Luigi’s Mansion Dark Moon was a game that I always had the 3D on. The room dioramas and the slower pacing of the game really made the 3D effect really surreal and atmospheric. Seeing the rooms really stand out in the foreground was really cool, and added another feeling of excitement when going into a new room. If they are capable of doing the 3D effects as great again, this will be another game that really makes the 3DS earn it’s title.

It's entirely possible. Remember that they seem to be going chronologically with the character releases. Unless they unfavorably skip 64, a fan favorite from that title will be playable. And I get the feeling the final boss is unfit for the role because of Gooey.

Jeremy Jones Pokemon and especially Metroid probably aren't coming out this year (I was talking specifically about 2018). I also have never played a Fire Emblem or Metroid game. Actually, if you think about giving the trilogy of Mario & Luigi games remakes, this makes the most sense to do it in this order. The 3DS still is selling, but it’s player base may one day shrink. This may be Alphadream’s Last game on the 3DS, but who knows. It’s crucial for Bowser’s Inside Story to be played on a DS system, and putting it on the Switch would simply not work at all. Mario & Luigi BiS is very reliant on utilizing the DS’s capabilities to the max. The game is built upon the necessity of two screens, and the Stylus is required for battles and Minigames. A Switch version would be terrible, but the 3DS is perfect as it’s still a DS at heart. Mario & Luigi PiT on the other hand, though developed for the DS, didn’t do anything innovative with the DS’s hardware. It used the top screen as a janky map and occasionally used it for specials in battle. A remake of Partners in Time can be done on the Switch after the 3DS’ lifespan has entirely depleted. (Which may not be soon seeing the still constant sales of the 3DS.) A remake of Bower’s Inside Story can’t be on the Switch, and has to come now if it wants to get in on the remake action.

I'm not really a huge fan of hearing news about Smash, but already imo the existence of Smash will overshadow Fire Emblem when E3 comes up anyways. If anything Fire Emblem as mentioned is not as hype inducing thus I would have hoped they went with mentioning it now so it can gain the hype it needs/wants before the Smash reveal that would come out of nowhere at E3. If not now, I would have preferred back when they had that mini in January or something. I don't see much reason to make an FE direct between now and E3 as people want to hear more about Smash from Nintendo after they teased them. Also an FE direct later on in Fall after the game is probably revealed at E3 is imo usually boring. I never cared about the 20 minute directs that explained gameplay mechanics.....and I feel like others don't care about those either but that's just what I think.

I can't believe Smash Bros was announced at a Nintendo Direct. Does this mean they have something even bigger to show at E3? They'll likely show actual game play for Smash Bros at E3 but surely they'll announce some new games too. Here's what I'm thinking now: Smash comes out in September alongside the Nintendo Online Service and Pokémon is officially revealed at E3 and comes out in November. Last year was Mario and Zelda, this year will be Smash Bros and Pokémon. And next year will be Metroid Prime and Animal Crossing.

I'm going preempt the inevitable "this and this should have been on Switch" by saying that the Switch is not a 3DS successor, it is a Wii U successor. There are games that could be made with the 3DS's Duel Screen and Touch Screen in mind that cannot be done for the Switch. The only game shown that I could even understand complaining about is Luigi's Mansion becasue that game has nothing about it that originally required the 3DS or really took advantage of it, the body screen map really isn't a sufficient enough reason to make it for the 3DS. That said, there is no reason for it not to be made for the 3DS. Mario and Luigi is obviously made with the DS in mind, and Dillon is most likley the same. If anything from Undertale gets in before Shantae or Shovel Knight I will be mad.

The problem with your argument is that it's pretty easy to imagine most of those 3DS titles being on the Switch. It doesn't help that most of the trailers just showed 1 screen, which is recently how most games are nowadays and don't take full advantage of the Dual Screen gimmick anymore. The only game that seemed to have any worth being on the 3DS would be imo Bowser's Inside story, but everything else I saw really could have been ported over to the Switch. Wario ware never needed 2 screens, but the touch screen is useful. Detective Pikachu uses the touchscreen to interact with what's going on, but since nothing is happening on the top screen when it happens, I'm not as convinced the dual screen is necessary, but points given to it for not just being a menu screen like how normal pokemon games use it I guess.

You realize that just because you can image something on the Switch doesn't mean anything right? Anything can be made to work on something else if you force it enough. And if Detective Pikachu was a regular visual novel you may have had a point (probably), but the top screen is used to basically move around the world since it's a 3D game while the bottom screen is pretty much used for everything else. In a game like this in which you would have to constantly check case notes and solve puzzles, it would get tedious if you were basically having to check the menu every time you wanted to figure something out. It could be done on Switch sure, like I said, you could make anything work if you force it, but it's far more streamlined on the 3DS.

I also think it's brilliant that they combined the announcements of Sploon with Smash. They obviously knew that Smash would overshadow absolutely everything for most people, and they used that hype to also hype up the Octo Expansion, and even the introduction of Inklings to Smash. Well done Nintendo...smooth

Hyped about Star Allies and it's fanservice, Inside Story looks good and I'm excited about Jr's story (I actually ADORED Minion Quest in Superstar Saga), and the Octo Expansion is as fresh as it gets

Calculicious Sunshine is my favorite but you can't deny that it's collision detection and physics are a bit unpolished in some places. That's the sole reason the pachinko machine is hard.

You guys are faster than sonic. Now that i have pre-ordered my octo-expansion i wanna say something which you all prob know The smash logo reminds me of the brawl and melee logo. And in another topic: Dont mind me but i didnt wanted M&L:BIS, i legitmently was upset, maybe because already have it BUT i love the game infact i have re-played at least 5 times, but.... Partners in time is underrated, a jump from SS to BIS was a money based move by nintendo (kinda) the game is dark (A ton), funny, sad (If you think it to much), and challeging (A bit), the machanics are not as polish as BIS and on but is still one of my favs.
