Does anyone else love Twilight Princess like I do...? Seriously, it's so weird how everyone seems to knock that game for mainly having nothing to do in the open world while everyone also seems to knock Skyward Sword for having too many dungeon elements and a more streamlined, opposite open world with a lot to do. Meanwhile, I love both games with both of them being in my top 10 and Skyward Sword being my favorite game of all time, so Zelda fans, why not love them all?

I've noticed most 3D Zelda games after OoT have that reaction, personally I enjoy the game but there's many things that bother me about it. Admittedly, they are worse in OoT and SS, so I cut some slack to TP for those reasons.

Wow what a fanboyish comment...Not everyone needs to like a certain game you know...I didn't like TP all that much either. I felt that the opening drag on for WAY too long, filled with pointless tutorials & stupid goat rounding up mini games & fetch quests, I found most of the dungeons in that game to be boring & uninspired & I hated the bosses in the game for just how piss easy they were (Except for the Stallord & Zant boss fights.) But according to your own little world, I guess Twilight Princess is perfect & that there's nothing wrong with the game & that people are complete idiots for not liking the game...

Jacob 17 so you're not far off. My first Zelda however was the original NES Zelda on my dad's NES. I never owned a SNES, N64 or GameCube. The next Zelda I played was TP on my Nintendo Wii! I loved it! It got me back into Zelda! I then played MM on the Wii VC and loved that too! I haven't play ALttP though.

I think they just didn't want to spend time making the animations for every possible hair-style so they could release the game sooner. Makes sense... Just doesn't make using Mii's all that interesting.

When the Nintendo Direct first came on, I instantly recognized the music playing in the background as the music that plays in the Dojo in Majora's Mask. Seeing the colorful door in the third shot was when I knew definitively that we were getting a remake. What made me happier is that I originally predicted that it was going to be released in the summer, only to find out it's coming out in the spring.

Hi gamexplain I would like to point out that for the duck hunt level there is a hit bar on the bottom for every duck you hit and what I think is that if you get the final duck to full the hit bar you will get a power up like in the find mii level or get a +1 at the end of the match instead of getting shot by the zapper I hope you read this and put it into consideration thanks

Sadly this Direct didn't really have anything for me. Yeah seeing Duck Hunt in the Wii U version was great. (I could only imagine me passing out from hype if that trailer came out before the 3DS game) and I've never been a LoZ fan, but I'm happy the fans are finally getting what they want with Majora's Mask 3D. And Kirby may be my favorite Nintendo franchise, but I could never get into the Canvas Curse style gameplay so I'm not interested in Rainbow curse. Splatoon still seems interesting, and having a single player campaign helps, but still not a day one purchase yet for me. And yeah, I agree with most other people, the Amiibo benefits for both Mario Kart 8 and Hyrule Warriors is pretty underwhelming. I'll only be getting the Kirby one so far of the ones announced, just because I want a Kirby figure on my desk. Hopefully the Amiibos get more interesting features in future games.

I fully agree. While the Direct was great, it didn't cover a lot of games I care about. I liked the Captain Toad snippet, the Duck Hunt Trailer and the MArio Kart 8 DLC footage but thats probably it. Never really cared about any of the Zelda Remake 3DS titles and Splatoon.

Now although this Direct was beyond my expectations, there were a few glaring omissions from it that I have to point out: 1. Pokemon ORAS, surprised nothing was shown off being such a big 3DS release but I'm ok with that. 2. Yoshi's Wolly World as thats a Spring release 3. SHIM MEGAMI TENSEI X FIRE EMBLEM, OMG WHERE THE HELL IS THAT GAME!? Its been almost 2 years since that game was first announced and since then, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! Despite Atlus saying the game was on course at E3, nothing other than that has been mentioned or shown off and its meant to come out next year. I'm really starting to worry its been quietly cancelled for some reason, but I hope not as Nintendo rarely cancels announced games. Hopefully something will at least be shown before E3 2015. Otherwise I will think its been canned. I wasn't expecting anything big this Direct and honestly MM3D I expected as I think we all did. I expected no Zelda, no Star Fox or even any new announcements like the Retro project or the new Mario game as I think some people may have been holding out for. But even so the rest of the stuff was freakng awesome so I was more than impressed. All I can say now is that because of all those Amiibos and games, especially after just buying Bayonetta 1 and 2 Special Edition, I will be bankrupt by Christmas. *sigh* Nintendo, why u do dis!?

Don't say Nintendo rarely cancel projects...because they do cancel projects. Many people thought X was canceled as well due to Nintendo not mentioning it since summer. For Yoshi, its release is bit farther away than most of the other games mentioned, so we'll probably see more of it in future directs. They probably just didn't have time. For Pokemon, information on Pokemon is rarely shown anyway for some reason, but the game is due in two weeks. I doubt they have much more to talk about that isn't coming in this CoroCoro.

TalesOtaku21 I said projects the officially announced. Very few times have Nintendo cancelled a project they officially announced in a direct. The only one I said I am concerned about is SMT X FE cos its been nearly 2 years since that was announced and since, nothing. Also what you said about X, that project was never suspected to be cancelled. When it was first shown off (back when SMT X FE was) the next time is was shown was a few months later at E3 2013, then again later in the year and then again at E3 2014 and then again now. So really we have been getting updates of it. There was no sign of it being cancelled. Why would Nintendo cancel a project that looked like it was already very far in development at E3 2013. Games have been scrapped before at late stages but Nintendo rarely do that. Name one big game that Nintendo formally announced during either E3 or a big event in the last 4 years that was cancelled. I can't think of any.

Actually if you re-watch this he says quite a few times "in my opinion." Also, you do realize that everyone being positive and agreeing on everything isn't at all constructive or intriguing right? You need different view points to have a good discussion, otherwise everyone is just going to be stating the obvious consensus. Better than Skyward Sword, correct. Though i still had issue with Twilight Princess. i disliked how compartmentalized the game was. Basically each area was walled off by twilight. Compared to Wind Waker where once you beat the second Dungeon the whole ocean was completely open for you to explore. I also didn't like how few people you could interact with in Castle Town, considering how much was going on. Also too many portals, makes epona feel useless considering you get her whistle so late in the game.

Chris Smith I prefer Skyward Sword over Twilight Princess. I just couldn't get used to the dark-esque design of TP. I personally don't like games that are just dark for the sake of being dark (ironic since "yami" means dark). I also found Skyward Sword more fun overall, but I still enjoyed Twilight Princess.

Jimmy Alpert I think what Icee meant was that the base of the game was already there as in the engine, and most of the characters. If it were to be made on the Wii U it would've taken a lot more work as they would have to redo all of the textures, which means it would be more costly, making the 3DS version the better decision . I'm sure it will still be a great remake though, I know I'll buy it :P

Not trying to be a negative Nancy but I was very disappointed by the direct. Majoras mask was almost a sure thjng and I feel like we didnt learn anything about any of the games they "discussed." Mario kart 8 dlc looks good but we already knew about it. Really nothing new other than majoras mask. Splatoon single player was interesting but a given.

ok, here me out on this one, a lot of people on the net has been making this connection, and it made me think it could be possbile but what if...Sakurai gave Duck Hunt the "Uprising" treatment and just reborn the franchise with a 3D platformer that is designed to be the spiritual successor to Banjo-Kazooie! think of it! the duck and dog working together as you (the player) aim your wii remote at the screen as you fire at enemies and obsticles to figure out puzzles and collect stuff just saying, it could happen and I would LOVE to see it happen!

I'm the only one that thinks there was way too much US on this direct? I mean New Los Angeles? Really? Why the hell is Los Angeles popping up everywhere? Haven't game designers been to other cities around the world outside of Los Angeles, Washington and Paris? There are a lot of cool location outside those three but for some reason they keep coming up, and don't get me started on project S.T.E.A.M. the whole thing looks like an US comic already (It's not a bad artstyle, I'm just not a fan of it), and who is the one commanding? Lincoln... What the bloody hell has Lincoln to do with the lion from Oz and Tom Sawyer?! That doesn't make any sense!!

With the STEAM thing it's simple, American classics with an iconic American president. The fact that all these things being together and fighting aliens for no real reason is what makes it ridiculous in a good way. And I am always a fan of the ridiculous. Not to mention it comes from the Fire Emblem and Paper Mario company of all things. Plus, Nintendo's not really known for being "US focused" with their games, and really it's only STEAM and Xenoblade that have that heavy focus. And I guess the indie section too, but whatever. (The Smash trophy for Commander Video was pretty cool.)

But Peter Pan is British, and so many US things with no relation to each other, at least for me as a non-US citizen, just totally ruins it for me, it feels more towards stupid and nonsensical than to just ridiculous and quirky, and the fact that Nintendo isn't known as a US focused company is what makes it looks even more out of place, at least for me a totally US focused game doesn't interest me in any way, if at E3 STEAM seemed interesting, now it's totally out of my radar, and I don't think it'd be that much of a success outside the US either...

In E3 they showed us Splatoon and its amazing concept and gameplay, now they showed some of the amazing possibilities that they can do with its mechanics. I hope Splatoon gets a huge support from gamers because now it feels quite fresh and nicely bizarre. I just hope Nintendo keep doing this kind of projects, letting young developers to implement gameplays that Nintendo doesnt do often (like shooters) and innovate them with such maestry.

I really don't comprehend how they do not like Twilight Princess. I love your videos, GameXplain, and I am not going to start disliking you guys or stop watching your videos because of you saying that, but I am really disappointed that you guys don't like TP.. Welcome to the results of having a game that changes in some major way every single time. Elder Scrolls fans have been dealing with it for a few gens now :P . Every game is the most hyped of the franchise, each game gets flack from past fans who swear it ruined everything, and each game breeds a new group of dedicated fans who will hate the next one.

Yeah, Twilight Princess is by far my favorite Zelda game. Don't really understand how people don't like the game. It has so much atmosphere, the characters are great, the dungeons are fantastic, the boss battles were fun as hell, Zant was really cool, loved Midna, the wolf aspect was cool too... It was all great, and yet people didn't like it? I don't get it. I must have played through Twilight Princess 5-6 times.

Parks DeWi It always depends on what you played first. For me it was Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask. Opinions are never objective, so there will be flaws in every game. There are some in Ocarina of Time and there are in Twilight Princess. How much you like it depends on your memories. I played TP now at age 24 and it never really got me. Played Wind Waker before it and I loved that one though. You just have to deal with it and take it as a discussion telling people why you like it, listening to their arguments and react to them. There is no right or wrong in this discussion, well exept for Phantom Hourglass, that one is just shit :P

Did anyone else notice that in the Bomber's Hideout (the place through the sewer on the way to the Observatory) there are children's drawings in chalk on the walls and floors? I thought that was a neat touch that was added.

The only things I can make out from the Duck Hunt stage is that the background Dog holding the two dead ducks seems to act like a platform but instantaneous. And, you can kill the Ducks flying away. I wonder if that glitchy Duck will appear in this game, damaging everybody.

I"m not a big fan of the Zelda franchise but I did really enjoy Majoras Mask A LOT. Which is interesting cause back when I liked it, people HATED on the game. So it's weird that now people are hyped about it. I figured people wouldn't want to play Majora's Mask since back then the complaint was "It doesn't actually play like a Zelda game". I'm OF COURSE hyped for Kirby and the Rainbow Curse and Monster Hunter games. I have over 600 hrs clocked into Ultimate Tri. Ready to give Capcom more of my life. Also hyped for Xenoblade Chronicles AND the new IPs. Looking good, Nintendo.

Code Name STEAM reminds me of a steam-punk Valkyria Chronicles, which is an awesome game. I was pleasantly surprised to see this announced. Also, the struggle for waiting for Xenoblade Chronicles X and Zelda U is too real. So excite!

I Dont know if anyone has said this yet, but i think the MK8 dlc for spring 2015 should have the muscle car Bowser was driving in Super Mario 3d World. If not that would be a missed opportunity.

Personal highlights from this Nintendo Direct: Code Name: S.T.E.A.M., Duck Hunt trailer, Hyrule Castle course & Link in Mario Kart 8, and Splatoon single-player trailer! Honorable mentions go to Majora's Mask 3D, obviously, Ultimate NES Remix, Pikmin Short Movies, and Xenoblade Chronicles X. Really, this Nintendo Direct really reminded me why I love Nintendo so much! I was with Andre, in that I realized it was Majora's Mask as soon as they went to the underground area, though I DID recognize the fire sound effects from that game as well. On the one hand, I felt like this should have been saved for last, but on the other hand, this is a good way to get people's attention early on! Like Derrick, I missed out on this game when it originally came out, I'm totally going to get it when this comes out! I was kind of disappointed by the Spinner thing... Not that you don't get other content or that you get content at all, but the Spinner was... eh... Whatever, it's all good, I like these little bonuses. I guess it's Nintendo's way of justifying getting amiibo at all. That Captain Falco (lol), Captain Falcon suit for Mario Kart 8, DO WANT! I must be one of the five people who heard Reggie say that there WOULD be a single-player campaign for Splatoon, and thus knew that before this Direct. That being said, seeing what the single-player campaign was about... was confusing and weird as all Hell, and I love it for that! Seriously, the hype for this game is real, I can feel it in my bones! Also, I keep saying it's a bit too soon for the Inkling from Splatoon to be playable in Super Smash Bros., but I definitely wouldn't be against the idea, nor would I be against a Splatoon stage for DLC! Thing about the Duck Hunt trailer, I feel like if this came before everyone knew Duck Hunt was in the game, it would have came off a lot better, same with Bowser Jr.'s trailer. That being said, the 8-bit intro, the transition to 3D, having the duck and dog react to the letters coming at them, the clips going to the beat of what I THINK is a tune from Hogan's Alley, and seeing that the "character" of Duck Hunt isn't just the dog and the duck but also the one holding the Zapper, it all just came together so well! I love it all... And the announcement that Duck Hunt was coming to the Wii U Virtual Console was fantastic! I hope other Zapper games like Wild Gunman and Hogan's Alley come to the Virtual Console as well! Also, I have to wonder, in such a controversial age we live in, do you think a remade Duck Hunt game would sell well? Or do you think Nintendo would be too concerned about animal rights groups to do something like that? Also, I like Twilight Princess, probably one of my favorite Zelda games, actually. Thing about the Duck Hunt stage, though... The most noticeable thing, to me, was that Duck Hunt, the playable character, was on that stage... yet the dog was also a part of the stage. I think it wouldn't be that much of a stretch to say the same-colored duck would also be on that stage. They didn't bother hiding it or changing it like they did with Toon Link and Alfonzo with the Spirit Tracks stage in the 3DS version, which I think is really weird. Although, I feel like this might give a LITTLE more leeway for Ridley, in that he can be both a playable character AND a boss, but I really, REALLY don't want to start THAT again. I feel like you can attack the ducks to "shoot them down" in that stage, but what purpose that would have, I haven't a clue... Not much to say about Kirby and the Rainbow Curse, other then I love the way it looks, and I also love that Bandana Dee is continuing to be a majo-minor character in the Kirby series! Perhaps that'll be enough to have him be playable in Super Smash Bros. at some point! Not now, though... R.I.P. GameXplain. Cause of death: Captain Toad. Just kidding, it does make sense not to bother with an analysis, because by they time they're finished, the game will already be out, so yeah. I was kind of taken aback by what they showed off in this Nintendo Direct in regards to Xenoblade Chronicles X. It looks WAY bigger then the original Xenoblade Chronicles, and with more modern stuff, plus all the different jargen they talked about, it feels almost like a different game. It IS a spiritual successor, from what I've heard, but still... just makes me want to finish the first one already! I'm with Derrick, I'm TOTALLY hyped for Code Name: S.T.E.A.M., even if I don't normally play real-time strategies and I'm kind of intimidated by the gameplay. Also, even though the developers claimed inspiration from American comic books for this game, and even name-dropped the late great Jack Kirby, the bizarre character choices and the overall set-up feels more like an American parody of Japanese manga, to be honest... Not that that's a bad thing; on the contrary, I consider that a selling point! Yeah, it IS weird that they didn't talk about any games coming this Holiday, other then Super Smash Bros. or Captain Toad. Isn't that strange?

Now that even the duck hunt dog has his own home stage, the only character once again who lacks a home stage is R.O.B. I have never played Gyromite and I know it's an older game from 1985, but judging by the fact that they can make both retro and modern stages for characters from the same era I think they should and can make a stage based on Gyromite. I think this is both only fair in regards to how every single character has a home stage in the SSB series (For for the most part) and that a stage from another older game would be really cool to see and play on.
