I cannot see them launching the Switch 2 in 2023, especially if all the insiders are now saying late 2024. The first rumours were in first half of 2024, but then the dates changed. If it is late 2024 then I cannot see them mentioning the Switch 2 until late next year. Nintendo will want to get as much sales from the original Switch to clear as much stock as they can. I think you are dreaming too much of news of the Switch 2 especially a 2023 launch date.

In the life of Switch, Nintendo has never gone a September/aug without a Direct announcing the first half of 2024. You can visit their Nintendo channel and type Nintendo direct to see all of their previous dates :)

I can’t believe some people are really thinking that we either won’t be getting a September direct or are wondering if we will be getting a Nintendo direct since we had the Mario wonder direct at the end of august. I have had an Nintendo direct in September for the past 6 or 5 years. Whether it was a general direct or a game focused direct like the Mario direct in September back in 2020 for its anniversary. We will not leave the month of September before we see a Nintendo direct in September this month. Nintendo has announcements to show like the Mario kart wave dlc and other games for 2024 and the rest of this year because right now we know two games confirmed for 2024. The peach game that we know nothing about except for 2024 and the Luigi’s mansion remaster in 2024 for Nintendo. But that’s about it as of right now since that’s all we know in 2024. I think we might get an indies direct either in November or December, one of those two months. I think the direct could happen either early September or maybe mid September this month. The only games so far for the switch is Mario wonder and Pokémon detective pikachu 2. If the direct has anything worthwhile then that will be it for me. I might get pikmin 4 probably during the holiday season. I did play the demo and I did somewhat enjoyed it. A September Nintendo is so likely that even the weatherman or a blind man can predict a Nintendo direct will happen in September.

5:33 Mario Party 1 was on the N64, also it doesn't seem likely for Gamecube to be on there since the file sizes are too big along with the fact that their porting them to the Switch so the service would become redundant at that point.

Don't give me hope, man. When we don't know what's coming. Gosh, I might not be able to spend any money until we know for sure what's at the Nintendo Direct. I mean, we all know there's one coming. I just gotta hold onto my wallet, and see what happens. Also I heard from Eurogamer and another one, can't remember who... They leaked that Nintendo's next gen console is in the works, and that it'll probably come late 2024. So I don't know if it's true or not, but they seem like pretty reliable resources, considering I think they hosted Nintendo. I hate to burst that bubble. I'd love to see the Switch 2 come this holiday season, but I just don't see it happening short of a miracle.

If they announce a new Nintendo Switch it will negate everything they previously announce in this Direct based on your predictions. If anything the one more thing sure is 1000 year door or Zelda Windwaker Twilight combo pack. Or maybe the do finally announce Metroid Prime 4. Or the Peach game will be the one more thing. My prediction it will be a recap of last direct and maybe three new games but those could be indies so not as exciting and the one more thing is another trailer for Mario Wonder or something stupid that fans have been waiting for like a remake or something. I expect Nintendo to do the bare minimum because that’s what they do.

I have a feeling that they’d announce the dual-pack for LoZ Wind Waker and Twilight Princess for next-gen, just so that they could do more with it to make it prettier and better. Having next-gen launch in July or August allows them a new launch 3D Mario, a return of two of the arguably best LoZ games, and a major launch Metroid game released before or by the holiday 2024 shopping season starts. Metroid Prime 4 being the one that would release at the transition into holiday season for Nintendo (October). So if they announce Metroid Prime 4 and LoZ:WW&TP re-remaster/remake, they’ll definitely close with the announcement of Switch 2, reveal of a feature or two (probably revealing backward compatibility, and the expected release window (eg second half 2024 or summer 2024). That could lead to not only a huge launch for Switch 2, but also one of the most successful holiday seasons Nintendo has had. It would create word of mouth support to supplement the millions in marketing, give three massive reasons to upgrade (especially if Nintendo does the smart thing and give full backward compatibility to the Nintendo Switch physical and digital library), and doesn’t have Nintendo trying to build an install base during the holiday while at least the Switch Lite and Switch OLED are still on the market and at least Playstation has new hardware coming out in Holiday 2024. The LoZ remake/remaster that I would expect for current gen would still be a complete retooling and remake of Oracles of Ages and Oracle of Seasons, using the Link’s Awakening remake engine. Except part of the retooling would be making the two into a single game, since you have to beat both using the password link in order to get the full story anyway. Just remake it as a single game with events in the order of the official timeline and have a linking cutscene between the events of the two Oracle games.
