Welcome everyone to That Nintendo Show's Predictions for the June 2024 Nintendo Direct! Featuring my good friend of former co-host of mine on Next-Gen News Week and host of The Pixelmen Podcast. Today we're breaking down our predictions for what games we expect to see at next month's Nintendo Direct that’s going to set up the rest of the Nintendo Switch’s 2024 release calendar, along with some games we may see come down the warp pipe in the not so distant future.

Go play Metroid Prime Remastered right now. It's easily the best looking game on the Switch and singlehandedly helped get my drummer into video games. Hell, he bought a Switch just for it.

Metroid Prime 4 doesn't exist. It's just a collective mirage we all had after years of next to no metroid content. The sooner you accept that, the less you'll be disappointed at every direct.

June direct predictions: - A crossover game featuring lots of original Jetix characters (probably Kingdom Hearts IV or something else) - New version of Tomodachi Life - New Mario Party with the addition of Geno, Vivian and Pauline - Duelverse, the first fighting game where you control duelists from the Yu-Gi-Oh! universe - An enhanced port of Mario Sports Mix, now with the addition of Geno, Mallow and a few others who didn't make it in the original - An action-oriented game focused around Geno (same treatment as Snufkin, but with combat) - Mario and Sonic in Paris

@@thatnintendoshowWell, it's been a while since various duelists like Jaden Yuki never got coverage in fighting games. BTW, all characters that are playable in Duelverse fight with monster cards.

The problem with Star Fox is that nintendo constantly make decisions that ultimately sabotage every entry. Star Fox Adventures could have been a really polish StarFox Adventure experience with things feeling like Star Fox and not a game that got starfox stuff squeezed in last minute. Star Fox Assault would have been loved sooner rather then later if the foot controls were more polished, a good ratio between on foot and arwing gameplay, and a solid branching paths. Command could have been great if it was basically a gameplay remake of Star Fox 2, and have a story that wasn't written so badly. Star Fox Zero could have been great if it wasn't made with the gamepad in mind, wasn't another reimagining, and the branching paths being at the same level as 64. Even Starlink which isn't even a starfox game couldn't escape the bad decisions. Toys to life had become a dead genre at that point and if it didn't have it then I would have done better. In order for starfox to get back on its feet then they need to apply the same logic they have with other series to starfox. Gameplay first and not gimmick first. Take the base idea and add some other ones to change it up to make it feel different but not too different to the point of it being an entirely different game. While gameplay first it would be smart to at least think of a bare bone concept of a villain in advance in order to prevent yourself from doing the lazy thing and just have if be Andross.

What? Monolith is part of Nintendo, first party. Of course they did Xenoblade and helped with Zelda they are Nintendo!!

No, First Party. Monolithsoft is a fully-owned subsidiary of Nintendo. They are as much as of Nintendo first party studio as Naughty Dog is a PlayStation studio.

In this direct or the next one Nintendo will announce a bowser game. It will be a platformer/brawler similar to Sonic unleashed.

June Direct Odds: Highly likely list - something Zelda: 60% for HD ports, 30% for 2D, and 10% for spin off - Mario Party - Mario baseball Maybe likely - Metriod Primes 2/3 HD - a redesigned Switch model for lite - F-Zero GX remastered - StarFox remake (not 64) Less likely - Metriod Prime 4 - Kid Icarus Uprising remastered - Punch Out - FE4 remake - XCX remastered

When you started taking about 3rd party studios making games and then brought up Monolith Soft, they’re a 1st party studio and aren’t a good comparison for Ubisoft making a game. They’ll assist on many games but they do seem to have some autonomy about their own projects so I doubt they’ll be making a Zelda game solely themselves.

Seeing the worlds they've made in Xenoblade to run on the Switch, they did the environment work for BotW & TotK, I'm just so curious what they could do with a more powerful system, it's gotta be insane

If it means an improvement to their cloud gaming platform (if they choose to continue down that path) I’m about it. But I also know that anything Google touches dies eventually so I don’t really want them involved too much with Nintendo lol

Luigis mansion 3d can be played on any 3DS model and was not a New 3DS exclusive, thats wrong information. Also, the 2ds doesnt have any hardware upgrade to the original 3ds, the only model that has an upgrade is the New 3ds edit: and the New 2DS too

You’re right we were mistaken on LM1 being available only on the new 3DS. However the New 2DS XL is a hardware upgrade on the same line as the New 3DS. Without the 3D effects obv.
