I mean, a subscription fee is pretty much a console manufacturer's bread and butter because of how much money they make off of it due to important features such as online multiplayer, cloud saves, and video game rental, and if you remove anything crucial to a subscription service (i.e. online multiplayer), then said subscription just falls apart and causes its console manufacturer to bleed billions of dollars and may even be on the verge of bankruptcy. Hell, if you an entire subscription service is removed, its console manufacturer would be going broke. I'm not trying to whiteknight console makers; I'm only stating facts because the reasoning for Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo not wanting to make online free on any of their systems speaks for itself.

The fact that Nintendo has acknowledged the fact that things are becoming financially difficult for their consumers and are willing to drop their prices to help shows that they are one of few companies who try to care for their consumers. Obviously, they still have flaws, but all companies do. None are perfect. But at least they are willing to do something to help us afford stuff like this. Even if the subscription is higher priced, at least that's an optional thing. It's why I own all of their older consoles.

The only bad things Nintendo have done this generation are, overpriced Wii U ports, extremely dumb nso virtual console instead of a traditional one, and their obsession with destroying emulation. All very stupid things but when you compare this to everything else that companies have been doing they're practically a saint.

My concern about the subscription runor is that if they go through with it, then: A) They'll only release the soundtracks for the current games being advertised on the market. B) They'll begin cracking down even harder on the music channels here on KZbin to attempt to force people to buy the subscription. Maybe I'm being a little unreasonable with my expectations here, and I sincerely hope I'm wrong, but it's still there and still a possibility.

If your current Switch is in a noticeable worser state than yeah. If it still looks kinda new, than i would skip the OLED. I bought one last year and i love it, the screen does makes you want to play more often subconsciously. But also consider this, a Switch 2 is nice but i wouldnt be buying one immediately. Most games that i play now dont need better hardware or i just appreciate the effort of well optimized 3rd party ports. The only game i want to buy new hardware for is Dragon Ball Sparking Zero.

Well, at least that is interesting to note what Nintendo had to say regarding the potential subscription service and a further price drop on the current Switch consoles. Even if they do further price drops on the original Switch, the Switch Lite, and the powerful OLED, they will STILL be EXPENSIVE regardless.

Nintendo dropping the Switch price, not until way after the Switch 2 is established, it doesn’t make sense to just drop the Switch price so soon. Also Furikawa said the cost of console production remains very high, so I don’t see Nintendo taking a big hit on sales and start losing money on each Switch sold.

I get what you're saying at the end but I sorta disagree. Digital downloads (not streaming) via Itunes etc are just as if not moreso a good physical backup as CD's. So long as you have the digital file (eg MP4) you own it, and considering it's far eaiser to transfer digital files to several devices, it makes it eaiser to preserve ownership. All a CD is is a bunch of digital files on a particular physical format, a USB or SD with the songs on is just as good, maybe better since more devices have interfaces for them. As for Nintendo while I'd definitely prefer non streaming releases, at this point I'll take anything that's a legal way to enjoy Nintendo music.

Yeah, the way Nintendo handles sound tracks is pretty bad. No CDs, no digital downloads, not even streaming. You have to open one of their games. Not a great experience, especially if you want all of your music in one place (in my case, I run a Plex server).

A huge switch 2 blowout next June. Preorders probably will start next July and the switch 2 will launch around September, October or November next year.

Don't care. I got 8 joy cons that developed drift and I sent them into Nintendo for repairs and all 8 had drift after an hour each again. I think the reason why Nintendo got rid of Virtual Console was because they wanted to give Nintendo Switch Online a chance and were worried that adding VC to the Switch would have cannibalized the sales of NSO.

It's Nintendo they can't put their games on PC or fire sticks unlike Xbox they also don't give you free monthly games on top of a bunch of games to play like PSP or Xbox game pass with PC or whatever you call it now there's no reason for a price hike unless they actually plan over bringing over games like Gameboy/ advance/color DS GameCube Wii Wii U DS and 3DS I don't see Nintendo doing that but I see Nintendo just upping the price for no reason other than inflation for the wars and inflation that Joe Biden caused if politicians are going to destroy the economy the least companies should do is lower their prices especially big companies that overcharge you
