My problem isn’t that it won’t release. Team cherry should take as much time as needed to make the game good. My problem is that we have been completely in the dark for, what, 2 years now? No screenshots of any areas to quickly theorize about, no ‘hey, development is going wel’, no nothing. I have no need for a release date yet, but give us *something* .

I honestly don't mind how long games take to come out so long as the developers occasionally say something, anything. I get if Team Cherry don't want to spoil anything or if they're really busy that they don't have time to post any updates, but literally I am not asking for much at this point. Juts an occasional "We're still working on the game" would do for me. No screenshots needed, no talk of any new characters or enemies, just a quick check in is all that's needed at this point.

I think that after seeing what happened with Cyberpunk 2077 we can all agree that its better for silksong to take time before releasing. At this point they're not even working on programming the game anymore they're probably polishing it to make it the most perfect it can be

I don't like it when unrelated comparisons are brought up, cb2077 had a bad release on consoles but it still played very well on pc, silksong has only switch/pc release initially so they don't work on any sort of tuning or developing for other consoles, my theory that they probably finished the majority of all areas and they are adding lore and all the small details similar to hollow knight, most hollow knight players don't know about the extensive dialogues in the game and that small changes in choices can alter the whole conversation (not just how npcs interact with the knight, but how they interact with each other like how Elderbug will interact with the arrival of grimm troupe or how Lemm will comment on ur smell and refuse to buy from u if u have defender's crest charm equipped) and paying attention to such things really takes a lot of time alone, and knowing team cherry they won't settle for basic interactions so polishing everything in a connected web will take time for sure

Leaving out the fact that Cyberpunk was still bad, I agree. However, comparing a 2D plattformer with an open world 3D fully modelled game is kinda unfair and a poor excuse for Silksong. I'm not saying making a 2D game is easy, but it is definietly quicker done than something like Cyberpunk, especially since its a sequel and they could reuse a lot, like physics etc.. The problem is that they teased it WAY too early and now leave us hanging. It just kills the hype over time.

@@someguy1365 I feel a larger studio would suffer more due to Covid since they are (generally) in a more cramped work environment with more direct social interaction. A team of 5-10 people would not have to be as afraid of breathing in the same space as each others and likely also able to spread out more just in case someone should have symptoms.

At this point, Silksong is probably going to be terrible. With Hollowknight they had very little pressure to produce results. With Silksong the world is watching and the fans are consistently putting out Halflife 3-esque memes; the pressure is ON. Based on how many times Silksong content has been teased and not delivered there's probably problems in production too. Temper your expectations y'all.
