As you may know I went to CGE this weekend, but I also went back to work (I'm a teacher) so it may be a few weeks before I get a new NPTM episode up. Thank you for the encouragement though. it's nice to know you like these episodes.

Thank you for everything you said! I missed out on the issues leading up to the 64 (I have them now), but I didn't resubscribe until issue 111... the Bomberman issue! Strangely... that's my room number at school!

Thank you so much Bobby. You are so kind and encouraging. I don't think I get to choose them...lol. If anyone from ScrewAttack or Retroware or anyone wants to contact me... i'd be very interested. Gamester already asked me to contribute to Gamester81 com. As far as focusing on one series over another... I do them all for different reasons. I'd be bored if I only did one type. I need to mix it up for my sanity. Plus some people like my other videos more than these. I'll keep it in mid though.

Great video once again! Just wanted to say that I've introduced your videos to my 9 year old nephew. Basically you're the equivalent to him what saturday morning cartoons was to me in the 80's and 90's. I can honestly say that you would probably be part of my morning cereal as well. Right between The Munchichis and M.A.S.K. lol. Keep up the good work man.

Things have certainly changed. I find some things about new NP that are interesting. Most notably, they're starting to look back at retro games a bit more. IMO this should be a regular feature.

Yeah even in the states my parents couldn't afford the $15 per-year subscription. I finally got it for Christmas starting at issue 21 when Nintendo offered Dragon Warrior as a subscription bonus. I guess my parents couldn't pass that deal up! I used to read my buddy Jason's mags.

Cool review, and those nintendo power magazine was great but damn expensive here in mexico I remember those times sneaking-reading at the local magazine shop, but we got our local translated version of that we called "club nintendo", and the EGM rags but damn expensive too.

as you can see, mine's pretty beat up (at least the cover). People want way too much for individual early issues on eBay. The best way is to buy a big lot.
@NESComplex12 жыл бұрын
I agree. I just said Golden Eye because many consider that their most important game and Grabbed by the Ghoulies may be their least important. I know what you mean. Rare used to be the top dogs in game development... now they've dropped off the map. Where are they? They should have stayed with Nintendo.

0:39 Thank you Jonny! ;) 1:19 That is an intense cover. 1:43 Haha. Happy Thanksgiving from Mario! 2:20 Ah, gotta love the confusing game art not matching the actual in-game characters. :P 3:20 CastleVania 2 is hard to get into. I have beaten it before, and may end up playing it on my channel soon. 4:15 Haha. Even more confusion. 5:10 Bowties, oh yeah. ;) 5:28 Ah, Blaster Master. I remember loving it, but I try playing it now, I suck at it. :P 7:28 Bowties, oh yeah. ;) 7:52 Jonny shoutout! ;)

Wait, Charlie Sheen was "sane" at one point? o_O That's like saying Michael Jackson was black...just can't seem to remember such a time. LOL Life Force is always one that I've wanted to get. I love those classic shooters, and Legendary Wings and 1943 are some of my favorite games on the NES. Definitely need to seek out a copy of that game. Man, I wish I could go back to the days of the polkadot bow ties. I reckon I would look pretty fly with one of those :) Another excellent episode!
@NESComplex12 жыл бұрын
My student teacher last year wore a bow tie all the time. He rocked it well... then he gave me an eBay gift card which bought me Sparkster on SNES. I agree by the way. Life Force is my favorite shooter ever. I have probably played it through 50 times. I use the code every time, but i don't care.

The blonde dude is Super Joe! He's the star of the Commando series, and the person you're supposed to be rescuing in Bionic Commando. Dunno why he's on all the promo art. Maybe he was a recognizable character or something back then? I remember being a bit confused about that myself when I was a kid.

The TV section is so hilarious to look at today. The magazine was still in its experimental stages, and they were afraid they couldn't fill it with enough game-related coverage to keep kids reading, so they tried to appeal to their other interests as well...by picking three new TV shows even though the TV writers were on strike at the time. These shows are nearly forgotten today, with that article being one of the few records of their existence.

Great video man! Ah, snake rattle n roll what a great game. I remember how hard this game was but what really stood out about it was the co-op feature. To this day I still haven't beaten that game from start to finish but I did make it to the last level and broke my controller when I lost lol XD
