Nintendo’s MARIO is sometimes the VILLAIN👺

Nintendo’s Mario is almost always the HERO of the game… except for those three 3 times he was the VILLAIN!
We all know Nintendo’s Mario character as the Italian plumber as the hero of the game. For 200 Mario games he’s always the one to root for. But did you know in three games, Mario was the bad guy?! The villain? The one to beat? Nintendo had Mario play the bad guy in a few Game & Watch handhelds, but his most famous turn as the villain has to be 1982’s Donkey Kong Jr, the sequel to the popular Donkey Kong arcade game. In this game the roles are reversed. Mario has captured the Gorilla Donkey Kong put him in a cage, guarding him with a whip and it’s up to Junior to free his father. That’s not very nice! It looks like even Mario has a dark vengeful side.

Mario is more of an antagonist rather than a outright villain in DK Jr. Especially when you consider he probably did it to keep Pauline safe.

In a cartoon series that is Japan only donkey Kong was raised in a zoo. The official ending of the dk cabinet would be Mario sending dk back to the zoo. This would make this game either donkey Kong's song trying to free his day from zoo captivity or possibly Mario luring dk Junior back to the zoo after he escaped.

I like to think of it more as Mario capturing donkey Kong like a criminal and then donkey Kong Jr is just busting him out of jail but donkey Kong deserves to be in jail so therefore Mario's not a bad guy.

Mario/Jumpman captured DK because DK kidnapped Pauline and Jumpman has to save Pauline after DK falling in the last level DK was captured by Mario/Jumpman

Not really, if you look at Donkey Kong Circus, which takes place before Donkey Kong NES, you find out Mario was forcing DK to juggle things for a circus. These events lead to DK’s misbehavior and rebellion. So Mario was abusive to his pet.

Mario is a bad guy in general in Donkey Kong Mario Mistreated Donkey Kong and that’s why he stole his girl in Donkey Kong Junior Mario captures Donkey Kong and put them in a cage and is trying to separate Junior and DK, in Super Mario Bros bowser turned all the mushroom people into bricks so whenever Mario punches a brick it means he Just killed a toad

Let's be honest Donkey Kong 1 Mario saves Pauline from Donkey Kong. In Donkey Kong 2 Mario puts Donkey Kong in prison for kidnapping his girlfriend Donkey Kong was jailed for his crimes. Donkey Kong Jr just wanted to save the only family he has so Mario was just doing good while Donkey Kong Jr wanted his family but Donkey Kong jailed Kong he was doing his time he did the crime. Then the 3rd game it's all out fun. Cool video. ^_^

@@michaelschwader7944 It has the original 4 levels, but rather than repeating after you beat the 4th level, you end up following Donkey Kong through locked doors with keys while navigating new environments with a lot more levels and avoiding new obstacles and enemies. Every 4th level is another encounter with Donkey Kong. In addition, the three items you get from earlier levels appear in the new levels and getting all three in any level with them give you a chance to win more lives. Saving is implemented and you can save your progress, but I think it only saves to the last Donkey Kong encounter, so if you made it to level 10, you'd start at level 9. I definitely would recommend it if you enjoyed the original.

Jump Man is not Mario. For many years Jump man was thought to be mario's father, but in the mario movie both Jump Man and Mario's father appear... So they are 3 different characters s Jump Man has nothing to do with Mario

Fun fact: Donkey Kong jr is actually the modern DK we see in the Donkey Kong Country games and the Smash Bros games. The original Donkey Kong is the grandpa DK in the games.
