Honestly, if we're talking strictly new IP made internally by Nintendo, then yeah ARMS is the last time we've gotten one. BUT In terms of new IP Nintendo published that is considered relevant to a good degree is Dragalia Lost, which I'm still bitter on how much they neglected that game and haven't offered it an offline version.

I just got the app from Japan's raffle system since I didn't make it on my American account and I was just looking through the faq and was trying to figure out what kind of game it was, figured it was some kind of mmo game. Didn't realize it already leaked ;-; lmao Oh dang, the FAQ I saw didn't have screenshots, but the leaked ones I found online seemed to be the same FAQ but with screenshots It is very confusing why they just announced the playtest before even announcing the game though or anything, because usually with playtests, we already know for what games they're for, (ARMS, Splatoon 2 and 3, etc)

I never subscribed to the expansion pack because I already have most of the N64 and GBA library I care about, don't care about most of the Genesis library, and prefer to get my DLC separately and permanently, so I couldn't apply for this. It's a shame.

I just really wish for this new social interactive game gives us the option to use our miis to play the game. Otherwise idk I do think it’s kinda dumb since I grew up with miiverse and that was an awesome experience you can’t really overcome in my opinion. I’m definitely open to it and will play this new game when it comes out if it’s free for Nintendo online users but yeah that’s just me

If Nintendo are playtesting an MMO like game, something they haven't done yet, it makes sense they would playtest it first, to check the gameplay systems, UI and all work, as well as the netcode in a limited capacity before it comes to doing the polishing, and completing of assets etc. this is why dev studios when delays happen always claim that it's down to polishing and QA testing, because they are usually the last things done. Not being an asshole here but id recommend looking into how game development works before commenting next time

Yeah fair enough, poor choice of words on my part. It's not that it's an unpolished but content complete game, instead it looks like a really early prototype. I'm just surprised that Nintendo would introduce a new IP to us in such an early state, and didn't even give it a name, it would be like sending us a playtest for splatoon's tofu prototype, it would lessen the impact for the real thing. Maybe they're fine with that and they'll actually release it, like how that project guard prototype was eventually released as Starfox guard. I just think for now it's more likely to be a tech demo/infrastructure test than a game we'll actually get. Will withhold full judgement until I play it through!
