With the reveal potentially coming at the end of 2024 or early 2025, it seems more like Legends Z-A will come out for the Switch in 2025 and then the new Pokemon Gen will come out early 2026 for the New Switch 2 or whatever you want to call it. That means we will hopefully have 4 years as opposed to three from one generation to the next (outside side games).

Yes! I use the hanafuda one on my 3DS! Not the Mario hanafuda one but the one they charged gold points for to represent what Nintendo started off as a company making! The one with the crane and other animals, that hanafuda theme!

I don't think the Switch 2 is releasing in 2027. You forgot that the March 2015 reveal of the Switch was just announcing it's existence while it was still in development and had nothing to show. Right now they just announced the existence of the next console and it's full reveal will come within less than a year. Even if they reveal the Switch 2 at the last minute of the fiscal year (March 2025), the most we'll have to wait is until 2026 but even then that's not likely since Nintendo doesn't have long gaps between system and reveal. So 2025 is the most likely release frame for the Switch Successor with 2026 being the absolute latest

As much as i would love for all of the old switch games to just immediately run better on the next switch people have to understand unless the games were already built with the headroom to run better with more power they would need to be updated or remade. And alot of games actually have a surprising amount of functions tied to things like fps and break if you boost them.

I'll be honest, the fact that they said that their next mainline Pokémon game was coming out in 2025 at first gave me a bit of relief and hope that they ended up taking the time with the polishing of the games for once. But now with all this talk of a new Nintendo console successor it leads me to believe that they actually aren't going to optimize their next game at all & just hold off on production for it until the next console comes around, having them continue with this pump out first polish later mentality.

I feel even though the switch is technically a console it fits better with the handhelds aince it uses a cartridge, still not backwards compatible with 3ds but thats because it doesnt have 2 screens and has smaller cartridges

Even though there's not much information about the Nintendo Switch's successor as we speak, you brought up a good idea with the potential of DS and 3Ds games possibly being ported to this new console. As you've stated and showed examples, just buying one legit physical copy of a DS or 3DS game has gotten pricey over time. Since the Switch has a built in touch screen, Nintendo's next console could take it a step further if titles from the DS and 3DS are playable. Only time will tell whether the Switch's successor has found a solution to play DS and 3Ds games.

FINALLY! I'm actually very excited about this reveal. I remember them saying that we should think of the successor as the next Switch model, so basically they're keeping the core idea of the Switch and improving on it. This is a great thing! Also FINALLY we're getting a Nintendo Direct. My biggest hope is that its not just all remakes and ports and we FINALLY get news on Metroid Prime 4. Maybe just one more smaller new game like a Mario Party. Of course we're probably getting some remakes with this being the transitional period between the Switch and Switch 2. I'm hoping for something like F-Zero GX or Kid Icarus Uprising remakes.

Unfortunately, though, for the past 6 years, hearing non-stop from "credible leaks about both the Switch 2 and Switch pro," I'll wait until Nintendo shows us an actual product in order for me to believe it. Also, so far, the only Pokémon games that have had problems since their day 1 release is, in fact, Scarlet and Violet,but calling the Nintendo Switch the main problem for "all Pokémon games on the Switch" is a big mistake. There is no reason for both Scarlet and Violets' performance on a system that can play the following games with zero problems: 1. Pokémon let's go Pikachu and Evee 2. Pokémon legends Arceus 3. Pokémon sword and shield 4. Pokémon brilliant diamond and shinning pearl But its because of all the Scarlet and Violet problems that im planning on not picking up Pokémon legends Z-A. I've been playing the main series Pokémon games since 2004, and this is the first time that im not looking forward to a new Pokémon game. This is just my honest opinion.

I wouldn't want them to bring the Pokemon GBA games to Nintendo Online. Unlike random Mario games, etc., Pokemon games need some kind of perpetual ownership of the data. The games will not feel like full-fledged ownership on the Online store and when they do decide to shut down the Online platform, we'll be forced to transfer out all our Pokemon to the latest generation games or Pokemon Home. And they replayability of these games for people who paid for them will also be zilch once Online services end for the Switch.

So dont look now guys but Pokemon gen 10 is probably going to be next year if history has anything to say about it. Since Gen five we've gotten a new generation every 3 years (3 between Black nd white 2010 and XY 2013 Three SUn and Moon 2016 3 Sword Shield 2019 3 Scarlet and violet 2022. So honestly I would expect Gen 10 to be revealed probably on Pokemon day next year for fall/winter release (the Christmas game)

What I’ve been wanting for ages now is trophies. It’s so Nintendo to not realize how big the achievement hunting market is and how relatively easy it is to implement them.
