Nintendo Switch 2 Just Got Some Major News!

In today's video, I made an error and I deeply apologize for it. I identified the Taipei gaming event as a Chinese one - this is my mistake and one simple google search would have clarified. I made an assumption because Google Translate told me the language of the announcement was in Chinese when translating. Reality is, Teipei is the capital of Taiwan (and no I didn't know this before people pointed out the error, thank you!). I will note that Taiwan was not part of Nintendo's "global launch" in the past, and instead was part of the 2nd wave of launches Nintendo did for Switch (releasing December 1st). They also got the eShop and NSO later than others as well. This does make the point I was making still stand, but I did make a grave error that I apologize for. I will try to do better in the future.

@@NintyPrime Time to correct your information about Taipei and China.. Chinese Market is different on Taipei Market because Taipei is part of Taiwan, they have their own Government.. Most Switch games or most Nintendo Games that launched in the US, EU and Japan will also be launched in Taiwan.. Taipei Taiwan is a free market country compared to China.

Regarding NSO, if your country had its own eShop Region, that makes you an important market.. Here in the Philippines, we only had Nintendo's Official Store online, yes we get the games on day one, but we don't have eShop Region for the Philippines.. Remember this, Taiwan, Singapore, Thailand, Hongkong are the most important markets for Nintendo at least in South East Asia.

I think the point about the potential for delay related to tariffs is that Nintendo are extremely cautious in their approach to business decisions. They can reveal the product without release date or price, but I think they will want to understand as much as possible about the trading landscape so they can create the best set of circumstances for the launch

Correct - I should have clarified - Nintendo uses this event because it also invites in a lot of attention from China. China doesn't have a similar hosted event at this time due to regulations. Nintendo also doesn't launch products in Taiwan the same time as elsewhere, but I did fail to bring up this exact distinction and focused too much on the china aspect, which isn't as important. I appreciate the correction.

Tariffs only have a negative effect when you have relatively fair trade, and you artificially impose tariffs. The other party/country counters by raising prices to balance the equation. However, when you have terrible trade conditions as we currently have (where politicians/officials accept bribes from other countries in return for one-sided trade deals that hurt our own people) then tariffs CAN act as a POWERFUL equalizer to force fair/favorable trade. This is how tariffs were used by the previous president (and we had very affordable products) who plans to use them more aggressively in his second term. You current have a "regime" that don't inact a tariff model, and look at the prices you are currently paying. We can't keep blaming this mess on covid, especially seeing how it had ZERO effect on inflation under the last administration, who bore the worse, and/or certainly most uncertain period of the pandemic. So to reiterate; it's how we use tariffs that will determine how much we pay for trade. I'm willing to bet that we may actually see prices DECREASE when we institute better trade deals with the threat of tariffs, especially when we combine that with the backing of good quality American-drilled oil that other country desire. Ignore the hysteria. This policy has been done before - it is super effective!😉

The Switch probably won’t be revealed until January 2025. But don’t worry, we just need to show patience. Maybe we’ll have a new Mario Kart game at launch or Prime 4, Legends: Z-A or Xenoblade X could launch with the console. Mario Kart could launch with 32 tracks and no crossover characters and get DLC packs adding crossover characters and double up the tracks to 48. It’s weird that the Blue Falcon is in the series but Captain Falcon isn’t. So why don’t they come in form of the DLC? I want them to ditch the Coin Item and bring the Fake Item Box back, add commentary as the Arcade GP series has it and bring Mission Mode back as it was supposed to return in Wii. By March 2026, we could get a new 3D Kirby game, possibly a Sequel to Forgotten Land. We could get to see playable Elfilin and Clawroline for the first time and they could bring back the Dream Palace Allies as well. Halfway through 2026, we could get Splatoon 4 and by the end of the year, we could get Super Smash Bros. 6 and hopefully they’ll ditch World of Light and bring Subspace Emissary back. We could get Super Mario Maker 3 and Luigi’s Mansion 4 and a successor to Super Mario Party Jamboree by 2027 as it’s been 5 years since we had Super Mario Maker 2 and Luigi’s Mansion 3. They could add a Mario Wonder game style to Super Mario Maker 3 so 3D World isn’t just the extra game style and they could bring the Amiibo costumes and the Weird Mushroom back, and for Luigi’s Mansion 4, the game could be in an Airbnb and we might get to see Luigi save Daisy for the first time in the series. By 2028, we could get a successor to Paper Mario: The Origami King as the TTYD remake came out this year. So why not another one in the next 4 years? I hope the console sells well. I probably won’t get it day one, or maybe not at all. I might wait for Smash 6 to be announced and then get it with Mario Kart and get other games later on.

Tariffs are a tool to be used to get other nations, i.e. China, to participate fairly in global trade. It does not mean, by default, that these tariffs will be implemented. If they are used, it would be for a short time because China can not afford to not sell to the United States. In a perfect world, the U.S. or one of our allies would get the manufacturing jobs that are currently in China.
