Not fair to say the Pro Controller is the less expensive option for playing with friends considering a pair of Joycons will actually allow for 2 additional players in many games. Knowing that, the Joycon price really is not too surprising. It really comes down to the game you're playing, the number of friends you typically play with, and the comfort of each option for the individual.

I love the pro controller the second i tried it, It fits perfectly. I got 10 splats when i used it at an event! and i dont know about you, but I always find myself with 3 friends, 2 joycon and a pro controller! Also, what i plan on doing is leaving the joycon in the switch, when im at home, ill use the pro controller, when i want to take it on the go, i undock the switch with the joycons instead of having to insert them. No wonder its sold out!

That Wii U Pro controller had godly battery life. I put the first 85 hours in Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate on one charge. I would charge it before I left for a week to stay with a friend that had a Wii U. Never worried about bringing anything to charge it with. 40+ hours ain't bad though.

I have to say, I finally got a hold of a Pro controller and it's a game changer. I don't know what Gabe is talking about here. I'm sure there was personal preference and/or stubborness involved, but there's no excuse not to want a Pro controller other than you can't find one or can't justify the price. As far as people complaining about the directional pad, they've gotta be off their rockers. I've tested it out with multiple games and it works extremely well. My scores went up and games became 10x more enjoyable.

I was really hoping you'd mention the directional pad difference in the pro controller and the single joycon joystick or even the two joycon on the grip. I love playing platformers and metroidvanias and I'm worried about the lack of a directional pad, that alone is making me think about getting a pro controller. I'm also hoping Nintendo releases a joycon with directional pads instead of the joystick down the line, I really think that will sell.

I think any complaint about how the controller "feels" is mostly directed at the fact that since it is translucent, it is making you actively think about the fact that it is plastic. The usual opaque look of a controller doesn't make you think about its materials. Even if the pro controller is made of more solid plastic than the PS4 or XBone controllers, people who don't typically think about controller construction are going to think it looks cheap.

I loved the way you could separate your hands with the Nunchuk + Wiimote so depending on how the joycons feel I'm probably gonna play it that way.

I have my pro controller ordered and it's set to get here a few days after the switch itself. So I'll have a few days to get feel for the joy con alone and in their grip before I compare them to the pro controller. Though I will say, you two are the first two people I've heard prefer the joy con grip... So I'm interested to see which I end up preferring.

Can you guys do a video about joycon rubber grips? I have no clue what I'm getting, as there are many designs and I want to see them before choosing between ergonomic, symmetrical styled, plain grips, or even controller extenders. Or even when the switch comes out buy 6 or so different grips and do a review video (it may seem like a lot but it would be vastly helpful to many).

iLoveEveryThingGuY but there is splatoon, arms, Mario kart, Mario odyssey... all games that fit perfectly with the pro controller (also animal crossing at e3 would be hype as fuck)

iLoveEveryThingGuY Nintendo has learned their lesson to never do another Amiibo festival. I see animal crossing amiibo going for $6 CAD which is around $4 USD and the game bundle for $30 CAD or $20 USD

tomfoolyaface depends on how much you will carry it around and if you've got for example a backpack where it fits in nicely oh, and it also depends on if you've got a friend to play snipper clips with ^^ but I think I'd go for the game
