Remember the Nintendo Switch with the SD Card Reader with a Fatal Error!? Well, it's come back to me as it's failed again!
Let's have another go and see if we have more luck this time around!
Hope you enjoy!
Steve
PS. I'm not an expert in repairs at all. I do this for fun, and it may not be the best or safest way to go about repairing broken stuff. I'm pretty good at melting plastic though. Please don't copy me - I'm an idiot.

This fix was so tense that I almost had a heart attack! :) Very nice, I don't think I could put those pins back with my shaky hands. I have a similar microscope as you and I'm wondering where you get that stand for it. The one that came with mine offers very little room to work with.
@StezStixFix
@StezStixFix 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks Norrecito! My scope is a Frankenstein of 2 different stands. I used the LED lights and base from the original one and stuck an articulated arm to it. That gives so much more room underneath! Bruh, why does a last gen portable console has such an absolute cr*p connector that falls apart if you look at it wrong like that, which is basically a bunch of loose pins inside a plastic housing? Talk about anti-repair design... You know what this reminds me of? Those friggin' crap Nokia cellphone charging connectors of the past... the proprietary ones with exposed copper pins. If corrosion ever gets to that connector, it's over. Kudos to Steve for having the patience to fix this... I'd just end up with a Switch in a million pieces inside the garbage can, seriously. :P Replacing the drifting sticks was enough to get in my nerves, and if I remember correctly that didn't even require soldering. :P Anyways, learning a ton from your channel Steve, thanks for sharing! :D

Why aren't you using scotch tape to rescue those pins?! I admit I'm not an engineer, so I can't remember exactly how my friend does it, but for tiny things he has to place on a board, I remember something about him using scotch tape, then he anchors the pins down with something that is conductive, and I think he uses alcohol to wash the tape residue off.
