Funny thing with the switch, I sent my moddable but unmodified switch off to Nintendo for repair they sent it back still broke (screen was stuck on orange background from the eshop and unresponsive) then said it couldn't be repaired and sent me a newer mariko unit that couldn't be modded I logged into my account only to see my profile name and picture changed and someone had bought a game on it (luckily using their bank card) turns out not only was my original switch fixed but it had been sold on to someone in Romania without my account being wiped off of it first, this was confirmed by Nintendo themselves.

I sent it in to be fixed, they sent me a replacement the next day but said the game would take 6 weeks to return. 6 weeks later i got a letter saying there was no game in the console! I rang and argued with customer services but they claimed it was impossible. It isn't just Nintendo, I can't look at that game without my blood boiling!

The annoying thing, it is impossible to normally change the country of your steam account, you have to go through some sort of process with your payment options...which means it's just impossible if you do not use payment options and instead pay with storebought credit. It's been a big issue for 18+ games already and now it affects a bunch more games.

For the GTA Definitive Edition Collection, I believe it was all on Take 2 giving GSG a super hard time and just not giving them time to make the collection how it should have been. Matt McMuscles did a video on this. I don't know much about GSG, maybe they aren't the most experienced, but it sucks that people rage at the devs doing their best on something when so much of the time it's the suits giving them an unreasonably hard time and beyond unreasonabe requirements.

Grove Street Games make a widely criticized remaster full of bugs, glitches, and arguably poor coding. If someone were to come back five years later and see the game after it was fixed by a completely different studio it would be weird for them to be praised for the improved remaster the elements they had no hand in, making look or play as good as it might. So, I can see why they removed them from the splash screen they still have their place in the end credits. The only other option would have been to put them back in and specifically credit them as "the people who made the crappy version" and then list the new devs as "the people who cleaned up their mess." That might be considered even more petty than removing them from that screen.

gsg did a pretty bad job with the remakes. just now, things are changing, thanks to patches. BUT, i think the best curse of action is to put something like that in the tittle (for example, in gta san andreas case) :"original game 2004 rockstar games". "remake by grovestreet games 2022" and "patches by "insert the new company here". that way, everybody involved is credited. of course the case in real world is more like rockstar wanting to "erase" gsg from people's minds, but well...

The issue I see rather with Nintendo vs Emulation is that they lack to see other ways to imrpove their income while also working together with the community. Valve does this successfully, that's why everyone praises them. It's pretty simple actually for a start, even if they want us to buy a Nintendo console all that'd have to be done is to give us their entire backlog catalog to purchase separately, like with Virtual Console. From here, they could experiment with things like letting us play on PC or phones/tablets at least through streamed methods, if they insist on preventing piracy. On the other side, let the community pass with fan remixes and fan games. Whenever they sent out DMCAs it feels like those came out of nowhere. Yea, no wonder. How are people supposed to know what they are allowed to do and what not? It's easy to blame Nintendo here for being selfish whereas in reality, every piece of media has its fans and those fans also do fan stuff. I'm really not one of those who cry for Mr. Iwata at any given chance but he at least gave us consumers the impression that there is a strict line that neither of us should or will cross, while also trying to make the experience with Nintendo products more enjoyable. Afaik, as long as you actually OWN your game, you're okay to emulate, which is how it should be to begin with. This is why MiG is alright. It's just downright disrespectful to emulate games you don't own from a console that is still in circulation. Of course, if the system is no longer in circulation, then it's a different story because the money you pay in order to get the games no longer go to the devs. If you're working in the development industry, you'd understand how irritating it is to work on a project for months on end, or even years, only to not make enough to pay for the budget you had because your project got pirated.

There is no guarantee of the disc working years later and backing up every single game is not always feasible or even convenient. Wondering why on earth people would play those old GTA games now, i men yes i was in love with them at my teenage age there were the best but nowadays they just look like dog vommit specifically GTA Vice City which had tons n tons of bugs in it's own era, not that new games don't i don't even play GTA V for long, however i love Red Dead 2 So, yeah anyway, my next speech is Nintendo sucks
