I always love coming home from work and seeing that you have new videos out Bob. It keeps me occupied plus I get to learn things about Nintendo that I don't even know considering I'm a Nintendo collector myself. As for these items, I've never once seen them but I do remember reading about them, it's nice to finally see them in "person" seeing as I come from a forum that specializes in collecting, etc. I'm actually surprised that no one from ASSEMbler Games never sold one of these things seeing as their marketplace is one of the most active portions of their site at time.

Are there a possibility to emulate Nintendo dial-up servers and see it work? Is the original content transmitted over them shared where? Where are these cards? Any way to emulate them? Are they PCBs or like casettes? :D

We should get someone to delvelop alternative server for these thing, hope theres someone out there willing to reverse engineer rom on this thing
@Hunt4Yoshi7 жыл бұрын
it's actually not a useless piece of hardware, reports of usage for betting on horse racing have been as recent as 2015,and there were a few cards released for it,it had not gotten an American release due to Nintendo of Americas concern that children would go online and trade your stocks or Gamble and the fact that online gambling laws are more strict over here
@JaredConnell6 жыл бұрын
Up until 2015 it had a use, however now the dial up servers are no longer available. So now it is basically useless. But thats only in Japan. Outside of Japan the unit has been useless since it was built lol

What is that port on the bottom of Network System for? It's directly behind the connector that goes in the Cartridge Slot. It's underneath a plastic cover. It also reminds me of the Extension. Port on the bottom of the NES. The way it's in a trench.

9:27 It just looks like a typical line Y splitter, so you can have your phone still attached without reconnecting it. I doubt it is a line splitter with filter though, as that is more of DSL era technology and I don't think you can filter those type of modems, which I assume this is a 56k modem. :)

Would that adapter fit on the Famicom AV ?
@Dewotto10 жыл бұрын
Since the Famicom had a keyboard imagine using that with this modem to be able to dial onto BBS services back then.

This really showed how advanced Nintendo tried to be for their time. Of course, technology marches on and it is a very normal thing for almost ANYTHING to be web connected today!
