I feel like Double Deck should’ve returned to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe because it’s enormous, and it would’ve worked very well with the huge 12 player lobby

The only battle course in Mario Kart 64 that hasn't been given the retro treatment by Nintendo yet. I think it's about time they do it in Mario Kart 9!

Why is this and Block Fort Playing The Music to Choco Mountain as opposed to the game’s basic battle music.

My best guess is that Nintendo didn't want to use the same music for all 4 of its battle courses in Mario Kart 64 as it may have been considered too repetitious. However, they couldn't compose another unique track for reasons, and just decided to reuse an existing one from another course.
