MY GOD, I hated the daredevil run of this galaxy when I first played this game, and I still do. One of the most bullshit atempts was when I was at the final part and I defeated the boomerang bros, AND THEN I GOT HIT BY A HAMMER FROM BEHIND! D:< But I really enjoyed your LP of this game Tim.

When your on the platform at 22:24 you can grab the pull star. It helps because then you don't have to worry about getting hit by the electric bars when your trying to grab the pull star. Loved the video NCS!

The secret to the electric platforming part before the pull stars is to triple jump the first one, long jump to the rest block before the two parallel ones, and you can see the first pull star off in the distance and grab it to skip the last two blocks. It's in the IGN run of this.

Man, I remember beating this in...July, I think? Took me a week of trying until I beat it, and I can safely say it's one of the most challenging instances of 3D platforming in recent years. I can't say how I think you should do this bit, but it'll be entertaining, regardless!

Also, on the pull stars if you long jump off of the giant blocks nearest to the Pull Star, you can push A on the Pull Star but hold it until about half way up, then you will go up and can avoid a lot of the obstacles by quickly pulling to and fro from the pull stars.

The red/white/yellow cables are known as RCA composite or A/V cables. There is such a thing as a 1:2 A/V splitter. The cheap ones aren't really too hard to find, but one with it's own power source will be more reliable, those are only available online as far as I know. The input delay does make it pretty difficult to play the more involved games, which is why most people do post commentary on games which offer a 'theater mode' or a way to save videos so they can just play back their footage.

It's all about keeping calm, and the more you try, the more you will learn and the better you will get. Some tips - try to save at least two clouds for the red/blue platform section. While ducking with Z, boomerang brothers cannot hit you with their boomerangs, but their melee attacks are still harmful, so be careful. If you want to get really good at the boomerang bros part, practice killing them with no damage on another mission where they are.

Tip1:Long jump out into the distance from the area at 15:01 and grab the pull star in midjump to skip the 3 electric fences in between there. Tip2:Skip the first 2 hammer bros in the last section of the galaxy, they can't throw their hammers far enough to hit you once you go through that first sling star.

I love how this stage only has that 1 star bit in it at the beginning, just to remind you of how many tries it took you to get through before you either finish it, get a game over, or leave the stage. Pretty devilish, really.

NCS I dunno if you'll read this, but in the beginning of the section with the pull stars, you only have to jump the first two of the electric wires on the floor. Then you can take a shortcut by using the pull star from that point.

I say you show EVERYTHING :) That way it really feels like we're suffering with you lol. That also means that when you finaly get it we will be just as happy as you would be because we suffered it with you. I don't really like playing on my computer monitor when I record so I just use 3 Y splitters so I can play the game on my TV while recording. Of course if you do it that way and also use a dazzle you also need a double sided composite cable. Which has the red, yellow, and white on both ends.

A tip: You can long jump to the first pull star right after the really long electric log. You don't have to do deal with the other three. One long jump carries you far enough to catch it.

I know how you feel at the Hammer Bro part. That part alone took 20 of my lives when I got to it. What I ended up doing was taking down one Hammer Bro at a time while still keeping an eye out for the rest of the hammers flying towards you. I don't know, you need like a sixth sense to get through that part.

I don't know whether this will help you or not, but I would try shooting star bits at the hammer bros to make them easier to take out. I guess, it kind of depends on how good you are at multi-tasking. If you can manage star bit shooting, it can really benefit you here. Keep at it NCS! I actually just completed this last night for the first time ever, and it was one of the most rewarding accomplishments I've ever had in a video game. Just stay persistent, and you will conquer it!

for the star section, although it can be tricky, i grab a star and spin, fall a little and grab the star again, that puts your throw at a bit of an angle so you can just toss yourself over and under the lasers

the biggest problem with this galaxy isn't so much that you mustn't get hit, but the fact that, because you can't get hit, you also can't get rid of the cloud suit after you collected it. It might seem useful at first because you can skip much of the 4th part if you bring some clouds, but once they're gone the only thing the suit does is slow down your jumps, wich completely fucks up your timing. This galaxy literally took me about 80 tries, no joke, but the difficulty is fitting for the finale

@jstarwars360 Here's the thing: I love this LP too, and I like seeing the videos as Chuggaa puts it "seeing someone fail" as much as the next guy, but here's three reasons why I feel the way I do. 1) NCS can go through the first three stages extremely easily. Maybe even blindfolded, he's gotten that good at all those stages, that's clear from this video alone. He's even beaten the fourth stage. So we don't need to see him do it again, because we know he can totally own those stages.

Shooting star bits to stun enemies (such as paragoombas) can be EXTREMELY helpful.

I think if you show any more fails like this you should fast forward the second section because of how easy it is. Also, a little tip for the fifth section: After you pass the first electric thing, you can long jump the second one. The last two, you don't even have to bother with! You just stand on the edge of the block without an electric thing and you can pull star from there.

When I did this, I tried it a few times by myself. Then, I asked my 18 year old brother to help me as the co-star luma. That didn't work for a few tries. Then, for the next couple times, along with anger and hatred for the level, I beat it. ON THE FOURTH OF JULY, 2010!!!!! To celebrate, sort of, we went to our beach club at Lake Quassapaug to watch fireworks. The timing couldn't have been awesome! I mean, beating this level and then watching fireworks after? THAT'S AWESOME!!!

Hey NCS, near the beginning of the fifth segment you can actually grab the pull star from one of the safe blocks without having to go through the last two electric poles. Really saves you a curse for later.

Having done this prolly 400+ times and beating it about 10 (more times playing it shorted the span between completions) tells me that long jumping through makes me feel safe in the 4th part.

I beat this level. I'll admit it took me about 50 attempts at it. I kept getting to the point where I could pretty much make it to the last segment every time, but this one hammer bro would always get me. I finally made it to the boomerang bros at the end, and the adrenaline rush was so great and I beat them the first time I made it there. But then I was completely stupid and tried to explore the final planet, with the star a foot away, and fell off trying to go under the planet... Fml.

Tim, you should practice the levels you need help with in the non-perfect run mode. When you can do those without dying you'll be ready for the perfect run. Save your clouds for the hard parts of the flip-swap platforms. Try not spinning at all on the flip-swap platforms (except with clouds).

i realize i have suggested this before, but i really think you should try this (i wish i could show you, but i am uncapable of recording...) for the fourth segment, the one with all the platforms, all you do is use backflips THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE SEGMENT. because of the height, the lasers will stop firing for whatever reason. this makes the segement so much easier, it's not even funny. i promise, it REALLY WORKS.

I think u should show a montage of deaths w/ some words like dang or shoot etc. and a timer on the bottom left or right corner showing how much time has passed in real life like in chuggaconroy lp of super mario sunshine and show the full perfect run when u do it. Tim, I think you should do one more episode completely raw, showing everything. Then if you still can't get it, do one episode like Super Mario Massacre, with sporadic death clips. Then show the episode when you actually get it. The deaths and your commentary are hilarious so it keeps that up, but doesn't overdo it. Of course if you can get it before that then just show up until you get it. Either way, these videos are incredible. P.S. Slippy now has a girlfriend...

in the final segment starbits are your best weapon, see, you hit the hammer/boomerang bros it forces them to stop attacking and jump to their next location, so keep a steady stream of starbits on them and they do jack all to you.

I repeated those first 2 stages so many times I became a god in those. I backfliped from where you were at 10:06 and I got to the star without using a cloud. I bursted out laughing but then I died :(

NCS, the thumb is a HUGE problem, it happens to me so many times, but what I do, is I push my thumb against the joystick hard so it has a firm grip, and if it slips off anyway, I pause the game and wipe my thumb then fix it and then unpause the game. When I'm playing a game without a pause button, I spin the joystick to the center to fix it, this helps on many of the games I play, not just this game.
