While Roar of the Beast is way too short and hard for its own good, it does provide some really nice graphics and music that will make it appeal to fans of the classic Disney movie.

To tell you the truth, Tony Williams did an 👏 job arranging the Alan Menken 🎼. As far as the game is 😳, it features the voice talents of Robby Benson (best known as the voice of 👑 Valiant) as the voice of The Beast and 🎭 ⭐️ Richard White, known for his 🌎-famous 🎤 baritone voice, as the voice of Gaston.

It would be interesting to see a mashup of this game and Belle's Quest. That would make for a unique gaming hybrid.

Lol, the definitive edition. I never knew about this one. My mom got Belle's quest from a Roses Store years ago. I watched her play up until the level when Belle is riding Philippe to return back to Beast's Castle. I think there is a glitch in that level. My mom lost all of her turns and Belle just fell off Philippe and laid there as the frantic music still played, from what I remember.

To be honest, a game starring the Beast doesn't sound like a bad idea on paper, as shown by how much ass he kicks in the Kingdom Hearts series. The problem is that the film he's from doesn't translate well into a video game at all: while there are a few action scenes, most of the story is centered around drama and romance, and the Beast himself almost never ventures outside his castle (thus limiting the range of levels). Being split with Belle's Quest does it no favors, as important story segments are glossed over in cutscenes or outright omitted. The game could have benefited from taking even more liberties with the source material, keeping the basic elements of the film while working with a narrative that works better for a standalone action game.

Funny in the game the Beast is a bad ass while in the cartoon he got his ass kicked by almost everybody.

'Roar of the Beast' and 'Belle's Quest' could've benefited greatly had they been packaged as one on an 8 MBit cartridge; instead, both games were split into a 4MBit cartridges each!

The bear looks like the scout master from that one Simpsons episode where they make the radio active Man movie. It's where they look at old 70s radio active Man shows.
