@@asnierkishcowboy I never got to play Spawn but I’ve heard a few horror stories about it. But yes, no matter how much frustration and rage you’d feel about dying over and over and OVER again, you couldn’t help but wake up the next morning and give Battletoads or Super Ghouls 'N Ghosts another try because they were such great games. I miss the days when developers put a lot of effort and time into making a game as good as it possibly could be despite the limitations of a SNES or a Sega Genesis. Nowadays it’s all about realistic looking graphics. A lot of the developers at Sony or Microsoft don’t understand that most gamers are willing to sacrifice amazing looking graphics in exchange for awesome gameplay, something that you want to replay time and time again.

@lartrak4 жыл бұрын
@@arte0021 It's much shorter is the big one. The bosses are easier too. However, it's way easier to rack up lives in the original NES game. This lets you repeat hard parts a lot more if you're playing on real hardware. Emulated with save states to practice, I'd judge Battlemaniacs as easier overall, but on real hardware I'm not so sure. Also, I do think Turbo Tunnels is easier in the original (even though it's longer), which I know is a wall for a lot of people.

I got really good as a kid playing the NES version (I reached level 11 yet never could get past it), but only got around to play this game as an adult, and boy oh boy, this is much harder than the NES one! I got the game over screen just on level 1, and good thing it happened that way, for the rest of the game looks incredibly difficult! Especially the Clinger Winger and Rat Race levels, that's some batshit crazy stuff right there!

Completing this on 1 credit and hearing the end song was one of the most satisfying things in all of gaming for me

My 6yo self would be appalled to learn this entire game can be completed in a half hour.

OMG THAT FLOOR IN THE BONUS STAGES THAT FLOOR LOOKS PRETTY FREAKIN IMPRESSIVE FOR A 1993 GAME i mean games like donkey kong country 2 or toy story for the same system also used floor effects like that but WITH REFLECTIONS?HELL NAW

This one gave me a lot of difficulty in Ragnaroks Canyon. I much prefer the Battletoads & Double Dragon (SNES) game; It was a lot easier and enjoyable for me! 🎮

In a way am glad I never played this version of Battle Toads on SNES. I baisicly played Battle Taods and Double Dragon or the Arcade battle Toads. there just isisnt hardly any Beat-em-Up stages on the SNES. its just stuff happening.

If you play the NTSC version of this game it is less forgiving than the PAL. You can tell by the slowdown on when an enemy has a large toad boot connect with his face on which version is running :P. Much of beating this game aswell as the battletoads for NES is memorising half of the upcoming events. If you don't know what is coming regardless of how good your reflexes are in many cases you are going to die ;P(on the harder levels). I suggest too if you are having trouble with the final part of the sand/cart level to follow pimples shadow instead of looking ahead ;P the up/down/up/down finale.

This game is ridiculous hard for normal kid. I was 7yr when I played this on SNES. Spending hours of free time to make it pass the racing bike round. After I finished this game, the other kid even ask me "Are you really human?" 😂

I rented this and was blown away by the 1st level. After that it's pretty much obstacle course after obstacle course. I suck ass at stuff like that and I think I actually ended up taking it back a few days early.

Hard to believe that today’s console and pc games have Hollywood style blockbuster graphics and Hollywood style voice acting with Dolby Atmos! Voice acting for games like this back then(even though this game has absolutely no voice acting whatsoever) was known as “Digitized Speech”! We are so spoiled these days with graphics and audio!

Battletoads NES and SNES both had so much wasted potential. I love difficult games like Ninja Gaiden, Gradius, Contra, Castlevania, and Dark Souls but this was unreasonable. The turbo tunnel was just awful and the snake level felt like a chore. The first truly wonderful Battletoads game was Battletoads Double Dragon. That game was wonderful and fun. It was challenging, but not unreasonable.

IMO Only the 2 first levels are actually pleasant, especially the 1st more than the second Everything else feels unecessarily frustrating Not enough of the beat’em up spirit and too much levels with complicated patterns

I could never get past that damn speed level. I remember spending hours playing this game only to realize that I only got 15 minutes into it. This Playthrough reveals how short it was...so maybe the developers thought,well if we make it nearly impossible to beat...

This has got to be the LONGEST BONUS LEVEL in existence. I mean geez already end the level. That level was longer than a regular level.
