Buy it on the site for Windows. Should run decently on any PC with a dedicated GPU from the last 8 years or so. Mouse control is so much better than sticks, touch, or gyro pointer for this kind of game that it's not even worth buying on Switch.

I do like that there are some super hard levels that are completey optional, I still do them but I do like that it gives a good challenge while not interrupting the flow of the game
@christophergardiner73725 ай бұрын
While I’m sure mouse control is much better and ideal for this game, I did play the original on Mac back in the day as well as Wii . I’ve been pretty happy with the joycon control from my play through of the first few worlds. I was worried it would be worse than the Wii since it’s relying solely on gyro, but it honestly feels about the same (as I remember it). Perfect? No. But smooth and responsive and the ‘like I remember it’ quality that’s enough to make me happy. Haven’t had any weird disconnects or jumps, and rarely had to use the center curser option with is an easy one button press. Frankly it’s fun to play a game that actually utilizes the gyro and joycons well, which often get left behind for a pro controller for most games. Definitely happy and impressed with this game so far. Hopefully it’s meaty enough to justify the $40 price.
@thecupcakehey16085 ай бұрын
Completing the story takes about 6 hours to finish (about the same length as celeste), but there are several optional very hard levels, as well as 3 challenges for each level (finish in X moves, get X goo balls to the pipe, and finish in X seconds) which are very hard and are definitely meaty, though if you aren’t a fan of the challenge, it’s an ok runtime at best

How many balls can you hold using the touchscreen? The greatest part of playing this game on my iPad a decade ago was literally being able to hold 11 balls at the same time as the iPad touchscreen can track 11 touch points. This meant that it was easier to build floating bridges as I could just hold the goo balls where I wanted and release them in quick succession before the bridge fell under its own weight Sadly, when they ported the first game to the Switch they limited it to only 2 goo balls
@ddnava965 ай бұрын
Also, iirc, tapping a firefly would undo all the balls that were held at the same time

I gotta be honest, the issues with the joy cons seems more like your joycon/Switch rather than the game. I don't have an issue with my range/disconnecting Joycons when playing docked, I can stand in another room and it'll work. But I have issues with playing in handheld with it disconnecting, so do I dock points from a game if I play it handheld mode? I agree that more controller options is good but, this gyro complaint I don't think will reflect most peoples experience with the Switch.

The Co-Op mode in this game was incredibly disappointing. I was bummed because it made me excited to play this game with my friend who played the original as a kid. @bigshrekhorner5 ай бұрын
It's not an Epic exclusive, it's also purchasable on their website, DRM-free. The reason why they didn't go with a Steam release as well is because Epic helped them make the game and, as I understand it, made a deal with them that the only PC storefront the game will be released in (excluding the standalone release on their website), at least for the near future (although I do not know if the deal will expire) is the Epic Games Store. But I still do not get what issue people have with Epic. Epic is way more friendly to developers than Valve and they take much less of a cut from them (12% compared to Steam's 30%, it's why Tomorrow Corp's games are always a bit cheaper on Epic, compared to Steam). Not to mention that many scream monopoly when it comes to other things but are perfectly happy for Steam to be the only PC storefront in existence, which is absurd to me.
