Problem is they are lv. 40, so you need to be strong enough to take down the final boss to actually beat one. And to rant about my gameplay so far, the sidequest is tough. Spent a while learning most of their attack patterns to actually fight them without instant game overing… but turns out after a while they give up fighting you and run away… dealt over 700+ damage, and game overed like 3 times to find out… they run away from you…

I tried for a WHILE, then finally that fucker died, since it was a side quest i thought it was guaranteed to drop the bone, but then... nope, didn't drop anything. I just ragequit and waited until i was rainbow rank to do the side quest, having that permanent "1" on my sidequest icon for most of the game was frustrating

The Sharkbones are calculated to be at level 40 so you'd easily be able to defeat them by the endgame (I haven't beaten the game yet so I'm not sure if it's medium diff)

I like games where enemies are supposed to be unbeatable, but if you're sufficiently prepared and knowledgeable about the game you can squeeze out a win anyways. Neptunia MK2 had a boss figgt where you were supposed to lose. If you were the maximum possible level you could be at the time (as fights stopped awarding exp in areas) you could eek out a win against it. The game still continued like you lost though.

​@@thalfie I'm at the point where the glohm lighthouse boss side quests are threatening to disappear if I advance the story. So, a few spoilers; There will eventually be better enemies on most islands because of story events that get you nearly 3k exp even without the rank up exp bonus, more coins and better item drops. No need to risk it with shark bones at pretty much any point in the game (besides the side quest to get one of their bones) because they're tough and can deal a ton of damage, especially considering the values in this video are edited for demonstrative purposes, so all that was needed to beat them is 1 damage. By the time they're safer for you to fight, you're already fighting those other much more lucrative enemies at about their same power level. I went for bro specific stats early game and bros attack boosts late game, Luigi can comfortably survive anything bosses can throw at him and Mario deals good enough damage to knock almost any normal group out in 1 bros move at only 2ish levels above the enemies and bosses I fought. Not to mention certain plugs give you infinite max candies and 6 rounds of double turns when used correctly. Definitely save up your sprite bulbs when you're getting ready to unlock the final craftable plug if you want double turns, hint hint.

I was stuck at this moment in the game and was too dumb to figure out you needed to go to the left to get pass the horde. So I tried cheesing them with Boo Candy (or whatever it's called). It worked for a while but they attacked like 20 times before it was my turn and I just had Mario left alive because Luigi took 1 hit after the candy expired and died instantly.

It's really not. They have hundreds of HP and take chip damage, and they flee after a few turns if the battle doesn't end by then. Even if they didn't, it would take over 100 turns to win that fight. Not at all worth 8000 exp and 100-1000 coins (1000 is if you get and sell a Sharkbone Bone).

It's not an EXP farm. Sharkbones have hundreds of HP and at that point in the game take chip damage. They also flee if you survive a few turns, but even if they didn't it wouldn't be a good EXP farm much less the 'ultimate' one. It would take over 100 turns to win that fight, which is far too long for 8000 EXP and 100-1000 coins (1000 is if you get an sell a Sharkbone Bone).

Not at that point in the game. They're using mods to defeat them instantly. Lvl 17 M&L vs lvl 40 enemies that will flee eventually if you don't out damage them first. Unless you grind like mad *before* that point in the story, you aren't killing them lol

When either of the brothers are knocked out in battle, the one still standing can only use solo attacks (like at the beginning before you find luigi), and when the enemy targets you you have to carry the KO'd brother

Depends if your attack technically hits the real or fake first. (Priority in the game is considered left-to-right), and if you break a fake one 'first' (So say you broke left and middle, and left was a fake, middle was real), it counts as a failure, and you have to redo the phase. If you free a real bro first (Example being left and middle, left is real, middle is fake), you get the real bro and it skips the fake attack entirely.
