The EL8 is a lovely SUV, we really enjoyed test driving it. Could have been our next vehicle, but our NIO Service experience has been a disaster, with almost one service appointment per month on average for our ET7. From rusting doors, to catching a self rolling odometer (really), etc.,we've faced the brunt of it. Unfortunate, as many others go happily without problems, something we wished we could have as well. The brand ethos, technology and design is awesome, but what we've had to deal with has taken us away from trusting NIO.

At the first glance I like the idea of swap stations but the more I think about it the less sense it makes. It will never be cheaper than charging and the time saved is limited. These are the main disadvantages I am seeing in comparison to superchargers: - Nio has to own at least twice as many batteries as nr of cars. - The cost of building a swap station is higher - Swap stations have moving parts and therefore require more service - Larger land use requirements = higher rent - Limited ability to handle high traffic - Limited customer base compared to an open supercharger network. These costs will eventually be passed down to the customer. It might be viable as a premium service but I think it would do Nio well to abandon the ship before their money runs out
@bjornnyland2 ай бұрын
No, Nio doesn't need two times battery vs cars. They only need 3 % more.
