My dad was SF. CW3 John B. Murphy, 1983-2002. Was in 10th SFG and 1st SFG. ODA 142,144, and 146. Was an instructor at SWC. Stationed at Tori station-Okinawa, Fort Bragg, NC, and Fort Lewis, Washington. My uncle also was SF, Ret. Lt. Col. Kevin Murphy, 5th SFG 1981-2014. Work at SWC and JSOC.

But silencers are not that quiet. Which is why snipers wouldn't be doing that in real life. Sneaking pass guards is more of a realistic training.

By the way this isn’t realistic because you can still hear a silencer being fired but it is just quieter but with the range the sniper was you would be able to hear the shots being fired

Extremely unrealistic. A suppressor does not silence your weapon enough to not be audible to people standing that close to you. They would have easily heard the rifle fire, and seen the dust kick up when he fired. They were too close to not have noticed it.

No way that’s a sergeant major. I didn’t hear him one time yell at someone for having a thread hanging from his uniform. I got back to the FOB after spending a filthy night in Tall Afar and the second I get out of the vehicle some SM is there to yell at me for having a dirty uniform. I was dumbfounded.
