It's amazing how such a powerful voice came out of such a skinny frail body. Kurt was such ahead of his time with his lyrics and melodies. That's why everyone went ape shit over Nirvana because there was literally nothing else like it at the time!

As much as kurt said he never wanted fame, he was very controdictary, he loved fame, and from a young age he set out to be world famous, he wanted to be the next Jim morrison, and the next jimi hendrix, he accomplished that goal and later would find out that fame can be a double edge sword.

Agree! I spent I don't know how long trying to decipher the lyrics to 'Old Age' (the "official" lyrics are NO help at all!) before giving up. Now when I sing it, I just mumble incoherent phrases. "One more day to (geema serma?) One more how to (kayma serma?) (Effis ounama?) think.... it's over!"

it's hard to overstate how weird it was to see THE coolest band, the band that "rocked" hardest, appearing on-stage wearing bras/dresses and in interviews subverting trad gender back in the early 90s. I am a cis male and watching the way that kurt embraced and championed lgbtq people and causes in the early/mid 90s had a powerful effect on me, and (I think) is a major reason I've stood as an ally of those causes throughout my life.
