Never realized Pat’s rhythm guitar for this live was so cool and staccato. Leaves plenty of room for Krist and Kurt’s original tones while still reinforcing. Now that’s skill and showmanship.

Haha, yep. AIC REALLY killed it for the thrash metal fans too.. I’m STILL happy bc of it, and I’m a thrash metal fan. It’s just that AIC is deservedly one of the best rock bands in the last 50 years, and people proved that. Nirvana was great, but they didn’t lay the impression as to take away from thrash like AIC did though. The made a huge overall impression, whereas AIC crushed ANY thing that was called “metal” and made it new again. All hail, “grunge” music.. if you wanna call the movement that.

I used to listen to Nirvana in the early 2000s, in fact for a while they were ALL I listened to - they were my first 'favourite band'. I don't really listen to them any more, my tastes changed and moved on, but they will always have a special place in my heart. Every 5 or 10 years I 'remember' them and go on a bit of a youtube binge..... This song was always one of my favourites, the live version on 'Muddy Banks' in particular. Seeing this performance today, I can remember why!!!! This song is so fucking EXCITING, the one that makes me wanna jump up and down like the audience here.... the other song that still effects me like this is "School". Amazing! Still my favourite.

Probably the best performance of Blew by Nirvana. They tended to speed it up quite a bit when they played it live, and this is closer to the album version tempo. The playing is tight, and the mix in the recording is pretty good.

I recently played with Krist at a small gathering. Didn't even know who he was (never was a Nirvana guy). He was really nice. A short time I later recieved some corn from his garden and gave it to a co-worker who might be the biggest Nirvana fan on earth. Her mind was blown. Hope she and her family had a good dinner.

Love the guy in the bottom right hand corner at about 4 sec in that recognises the song. In 1994 Nirvana was the Teen Spirit band, so that's a hard core fan
