With all the live performances they did touring, I think he got bored and started feeling like a machine pumping out the same songs in every city they played. I so love it when he decided to twist up a song or do a down right ridiculous version of it. Even I screw up words to popular songs and it's fun. I have to commend Krist and Dave for seamlessly following along when Kurt would get Into one of those moods spontaneously . Those two are pros but knowing Kurt I think they knew to expect the unexpected. Damn, they were a good band! Ps. I know this was an equipment malfunction in this case. But just pointing out how Intuitive and pro they were. Alot bands would have just stopped playing. ✋sigh 😕 . They were magic!

the way Kurt Cobain could change his voice in songs like this, randomly change the lyrics in certain songs, showed that he wasn't afraid to be different when it came to performing live. a lot of artists today would be too worried about doing this. Kurt didn't have that fear, obviously. he seemed to do what he wanted on stage and not care, and somehow it still sounded good
