Can you imagine ... MTV is expecting them to play acoustic versions of all their top songs and Nirvana comes out with cellos and accordions and do obscure (yet genius) covers of old folk songs? At the time, some MTV executive was probably in the back office losing their job ... yet today it is probably considered one of the best acoustic concerts ever filmed. The true geniuses have a vision others don't see and never compromise it when told to.

yep I stumbled on to it...I use to love it in the 90's I just loved the songs...I had no clue who Kurt Cobain or Nirvana was until 4 weeks ago...when I clicked on a song I thought I use to love..then it was just overwhelming..that he passed away..I was really sad for a week..I was heavy into golf at the time and it took all my time...music was just there for the drive to the course...but I so appreciate Nirvana as a whole to bring back great memories... I feel like I discovered gold

I’ve known for as long as I’ve known about nirvana. But their history, the connotation behind the lyrics, and how nirvana reflected on my own life all was too much. I identify with Kurt a lot. For a long time it hurt too much to listen to nirvana. Kurt might’ve been erratic, Kurt might’ve came across as mean, and Kurt might’ve done some horrible things. But you didn’t know what went on in the mans head and neither do I. He had one of the most pure souls of any human to ever live. It’s hard not to be bitter when all you ever wanted was to do right, and your mind tells you the world hates you. Listen to how the people close to Kurt talk about him. He meant it when he did things for people. Truly selfless. He couldn’t be anybody other than himself. And he hated himself. Kurts tragic end wasn’t his fault or anyone else’s either, we’re a product of a world that forgot the value of human decency. Have more understanding and be less hateful. Be more like Kurt. Don’t ever let anyone distill the life inside of you. Do right always, even when nobody is watching. Even though you might feel hurt that other human beings could never imagine, you will also feel love, compassion, and true togetherness that they won’t experience either. His story may have been a gruesome one filled with turmoil, but I think the true shot heard round the world was Kurts life not his death. He was kind till the very end, and did what he did because he felt like no matter what he couldn’t do enough to save others. Thank you Kurt and thank you to all of the artists taken too soon. Been thinking about all of them recently. We’ve all lost somebody like him. And it’s a damn shame. He made a whole generation who they are. Better to burn out than fade away.

Omg I’ve never ever seen this. Their recorded in studio harder stuff used to fry my nerves because of a mood disorder. I had no earthly idea what I’d missed. I’ve been on a project of late to collect a folk list of stuff 10 or 30 years before my day. Only now with age I can listen to a mournful list of songs and truly appreciate it. hear it for the pure, naked grace it contains. I think developing a wide , interesting (and odd at times) vary of genres is the best blessing in experiences with the mood stuff. So grateful to find another wonder artist, even decades late. ☮️🙏

Nirvana means so much to me. This performance in particular is so special and I’m so grateful that it happened. But it’s so heart breaking. I had to look away for years. I literally couldnt stand to watch Kurt. I revisited Bleach the other day and I haven’t been able to stop studying Kurt again and playing his music on a loop. Coming back to this performance, I know I’ll have to take a break again. Sometimes I can’t help but just start crying. It’s still hard for me to wrap my head around the fact that he’s not around, and that it had to end the way it did. Feels like a perpetual state of grief that I can only get away from if I distract myself. I wish it could have been different, Kurt.

Being a former IV heroin addict..I can feel the pain in his soul. Its written on his face. Grinds his teeth if you look closely. Anyone who thinks he didn't kill himself obviously has not been in the living hell of opiate addiction. I almost killed myself multiple times. Very destructive drug. It literally steals your soul and emotion. The poor guy was fucking miserable. Once you are hooked sex...money...love all goes away and you are left with yourself...depression...and the demon you inject to feel normal. I couldn't shed a tear when my mom died because I was so numb. Just watch the something in the way unplugged. That teeth grinding brings back horrible memories. He's trying to get through the show without banging dope. I miss him. I still clench my teeth and I have been sober for years at a time...peppered with relapse but that is part of recovery. And sober is a difficult term to be sober. You will never forget the feeling of the high and it will stay with you for life waiting for you to be weak. Oh my God the relapse. ...and I never got on the methadone program or suboxone..cold 🥶 turkey. Sick for over a month and a half 🤧. Literally why they warn you about drugs 💉 in school...pure evil 😈 💀
