There's a wooden pallet over the top of the board on stage left. Kurt kept smashing it with his guitar because of sound problems. The bouncer had enough of Kurt, grabbed him by the hair and started to pull him by his hair back to the stage, which is why Kurt Cobain smashed him in the head with his guitar. PUNK ROCK! They got away, the cab driver outside drove away just in time where the bouncer, his friend and someone else tried to fuck them up. They even smashed the taxi window trying to get to them. The driver drove away all super-fast and shitting himself nervous. He dropped down the sun-visor and quickly smoked the joint he had stashed there for later to calm down.

Its written in the bands biography “Come As You Are” that the bouncer did in fact attack Kurt, even going as far as to yell “I’ll kill you!” Even after being kicked out for a second they returned later to finish the set. After the set was done the metal bouncer showed up with some metalhead buddies of his and threatened to beat Nirvana’s members up, the Nirvana guys quickly fled into a cab that conveniently got stuck in traffic in front of the venue. The metalheads then proceeded to attack the cab and (I think) they even broke a window and tried to pull Kurt out through the window until the cab sped off. Its a great band bio that I recommend fans of Nirvana should read, because it details Kurt’s life and everything that went on behind the shows.
