@@finna1002 About a girl attempted to experiment more with pop sounds. There was no intention of hitting the pop charts. Kurt actually fealt nervous by the release of, "about a girl" because it deviated more from his punk rock style. The reason he was experimenting with pop is because he knew that it drew in audiences. He never wanted the massive audience he ended up receiving, but wanted an audience nonetheless. The track was raw, not overly produced like sliver or the tracks on nevermind. The session to record all the songs on bleach took 30 hours in 2-3 takes. Sliver was the track that pivoted the band into the pop charts because of the amount of polishing and further emphasis on pop melodies and rifts. This was kurts baby to decide whether or not the band should go full pop. This is more clear when you realise tht sliver was released as a non-album single.

Idk exactly why this song always hits me so hard...I guess it's because Kurt just actually transports me back to being a small child and the way it FELT. Others may find the lyrics shallow and simply written, but I think it's clever. For me, this is a POV of a kid with nonexistent parents and was always left with someone else to take care of them (in this case, the grandma). @Joshua Caravantes I only discovered Nirvana because of the Batman trailer LOL I was greatly surprised at how mellow some of his music is, because I’d always assumed grunge was in the ‘heavy metal’ genre. I was also greatly surprised to discovered they did that song you hear a lot on radio and events, which I found out was called ‘smells like teen spirit'

The visuals of this music video are so cool and it’s so Nirvana. I love how this video shows off Kurt’s collection of anatomical models, figures, music references, and other weird stuff. The garage looks like an awesome place to check out. I love how they have a mudhoney flag and how Nirvana talked about bands that inspired them and found ways to include them in videos or the band tees they’d wear.

They buy NIRVANA murch at hot topic or online wherever because people make tons of money off of his estate now. Anyways RIP to Kurt it is forgivable but not forgotten.

I love the video behind this song. It showed the band when they were all just doing what they wanted... having fun. They were the voice of a generation of kids and didn’t really get to enjoy being one themselves. They didn’t like how they were taken too seriously or that they were in the public eye. This video captures what they were all about.

The impact is huge. It's a simple trick yet the execution is brilliant and makes the hair stand.. Utterly genius.

From the start of this to about 0:55 the way Kurt is inflecting on the words, and his tone of voice, reminds me a bit of a cross between Syd Barrett and a young David Bowie.
As a kid my parents dropped me off at my great grandmother’s house. Every Friday. I hated that. It was so boring at my grandmother’s. But I went nonetheless. The older me is great full for the time I spent with her. This morning this song came to mind along with those memories. Thanks nirvana:)
